hi. i just got round to watching your vlog and i was wondering how you go about acknowledging and dealing with negative feelings when youre pregnant. this is my 4th pregnancy and with each one i have felt angry and cranky at my kids all the time. I was wondering how you dealt with your pregnancy emotions???
hi lisa!! sorry for my late reply! (it's been crazy here!!) - i think i'd be dealing with those emotions in the same way; i'd go into a process of self empathy first, and then share with my kids/ husband/ friends what my feelings and needs are. i'd also try to empathise with what is going for them too!
wow, 4th pregnancy hey!! amazing!! x good luck with it x
Hi Tam, I am totally excited to hear you share about NVC. In this vlog when you identified equality as a need I felt a little shift. Instantly a situation I am dealing with came to mind. Just hearing you say it gives me direction. Even as I write this I am feeling a sense of relief. What a strange thing.
Anyway, much gratitude for sharing this with me. There are a couple other distinctions you made which meet my need for learning and encouragement. Cheers & much gratitude.
hey nlp!! so excited to hear from you! :) glad i could contribute a little to your needs! you do to mine each time i see one of your vids!! nvc is such an important aspect of my life, i normally attend a local practise group but since i gave birth can't attend and your videos keep me in touch with nvc, it's a little like an online practise group for me! yay! thank you xoo
hey sweet julie!! thank you so much for listening/ watching and dropping by (just subscribed to your channel!! so weird, i thought i was subscribed already!!) xoxo big hugs
(my comment was too long!) I am finishing up the sweater for Dylan, and was listening to Marshall while knitting it! (When I am knitting for babies I always like to be doing something peaceful as I think it imprints on to what I am doing and I don't want babies to pick up on any negative feelings), sounds daft possibly, but thats how my brain works LOL Beverley xx
i think it's BEAUTIFUL that you'd be knitting listening to marshall and to think this will be for Dylan is just amazing. yes, it imprints calm and peace onto it, many, deep thank yous dear Bev!!!! x
This is excellent Tam. I had heard of nvc before, but only through your workshop. I have done some training that encourages empathy but it wasn't nvc. I would love to learn more. I have just watched the three videos of Marshall Rosenberg speaking and feel I am in the same mindset and would like to learn more. Is there a book you would recommend please?
you've already found the main book, i also recommend books by alfie kohn, they are not nvc as such, but they look into needs and avoid judgement and punishment and rewards. big hugs again! x
The book came today, I ordered it from Amazon and it arrived really quickly, plus it was a good deal I think. So thank you Tam for introducing me to nvc.
I've never heard of 'nonviolent communication' but, after hearing you mention it, I listened to some videos of the founder, Marshall Rosenberg. It is such a valuable perspective and can give hope to so many! If you don't have anything else, you gotta have HOPE! Thank you!
yes!!!! i hear your need for hope being met through nvc, that is awesome, i have the same! :) i recommend marshall's book too, if you want to find out more! :) xoxoxo
we loves you

I knit too and I agree with you about thinking happy thoughts and white light. I don't like babies to pick up negative energy.
