it isn't helpful because you don't share the principles; you just draw the sphere. So all people learn to do is copy. Learning for themselves is what is needed :)

some things i learned at drawing classes, at the start of the shade it must be rly dark and as it goes back it fades to white, also put the darkest shades at the place u want to come forward and focused, even if its not as dark . hope i helped :D

From the direction of the light you can calculate how/where will it be shiny and the size/place of the shadow hope I helped!

Not sure what you mean.. on the video it is a soft charcoal pencil, it has a darker color from black colored pencil, maybe you can try it.

@xxAlohafromhell try black prisma colour pencils.. you must press lightly but the range of shades is far greater than an hb pencil.

My work is donated for bear & environmental protection fundraising on webshots (karenvstefanini) and I am now trying to draw a galpal's cat with a ball and am trying to figure out how to do the ball with cute dots or another design. There are no absolute rules, only guidelines, if something works for you then it's good. In general don't listen to anyone who has "authority", question and try everything if you want to be good.
