  • God, it's horrible how little he says to Elizabeth. How little recognition he gives her, how badly he treats her even still.

  • If you look closly. Everytime Elizabeth shows up, and Henry looks at her.. he looks at her very differently than his other children.

  • .MARY is emotive,Elizabeth is impenetrable....Mary is an woman ,Elizabeth is an queen

  • he was so hot! what happened to him?

  • @Amazing056 time

  • @Amazing056 he got old

  • @Amazing056 It's just really good makeup. If the portraits of him have anything to say, it's that Henry was hefty.

  • i would be angry if my parent´s last words to me after a whole live of being his last bussines is to take care of my brother, even if i love him. I would like some words to ME

  • little did henry know that mary would turn out to be a ruthless killer ,and elizabeth who people rudiculed her for being anne's daughter she became queen ...and his son the son that he always wanted died before his time ...

  • @ANGELWINGS23ful Time to start believing in destiny. And justice. And revenge.

  • So sad

  • In my opinion i feel bad for all his children, They all shared the same fate by losing their mothers, Mostly Mary and Elizabeth went thru much more of course. Edward got pampered since he was a baby so he was fine but Mary being seperated from her mother and Elizabeth losing her mother because of henry's stupid dream of having a boy, Poor child. It was probaly traumatizing for the both of them and they still had to kiss ass to there father! Damn that was probably really hard for the both of them

  • @SsQuadProductions so true. I feel sorry for them. They were left with a killing, crazy father. I'm not even sure if he actually cared for his children. I do know he cares to have a son to rule England. Ugh. Poor Mary and Elizabeth ... and Edward. :(

  • I feel so bad for Elizabeth the most. Out of all three of Henry's children I believe Elizabeth got treated the worset. I dont think Henry ever forgave her for being so much like Ann. I know this isnt as accurate historical as it should have been. but still this open my eyes to what Elizabeth kinda of had to threw. I feel bad for Edward as well dyeing at such a younge age. I don't feel sorry for Mary though b/c she became a cruel and bitter women who held to stronge to her relgion.

  • where is the grossly bloated blimp with a 54 inch waste who could not walk and had to be carried in a sedan chair, who had a bloated moon face, possibly from cushing's syndrome?

Could they not even get the makeup right?

I gave up watching this failure of a programme long before season 4. it was so grossly inaccurate

  • @Strefanasha but yet you found time to look at videos of it and comment on them; I think they didn't fully gross Henry out was because it is still a TV show and there had to be somewhat of an attraction to him. And there had to be a connection that viewers could see of the Henry they saw in past seasons, just a frail, older version of him that was looking back at the mistakes of his life and regretting them.

  • It is very well known that Elizabeth loved her father; she was not emotionally unattached from him. I think that she walks away from him it so no one will see her upset.

  • time out... i thought henry consideried elizabeth a bastard child... so why is he blessing her?!

  • @mpdsmom Mary and Elizabeth was both reinstated as princess, thus declaring them NOT bastards. That is how both Mary and Elizabeth became queens.

  • @mmmmmvodka They both became queen by luck really. Yes Henry did reinstate them as his heirs, but Edward tried to write them both out of the succession on his death bed. Mary put up hell of a fight, raised her own army even, and took the throne rightfully for herself. Elizabeth was in hot water during both Edward and Mary's reigns when people tried to raise rebellions or coups in her name, she was under suspicion a lot during both reigns (primarily Mary's) Both were amazing but lucky women.

  • His acting here is just really, really bad.

  • MARY RULEZ!!!!.................. HISTORY IS WRITTEN BY THE WINNERS..... and were responsible for tarnishing the image of Mary for being Catholic.

  • @LeN0Re18 Tarnishing the image of a Queen who had people burn because they weren't Catholic? I don't think that NEEDS any tarnishing.

  • Mary was portrayed as a usually kind, forgiving, and smart girl in this series, I liked that. She really changed when she became queen though, seeing as how she had hundreds burned at the stake and then imprisoned Elizabeth. Thankfully Elizabeth was one of the best rulers that Britain ever had!

  • saddest scene in the whole show. Henry having to face the end of his youth (and all that entailed) and his life was the saddest part of the finale for me.

  • Was this scene before or after the dream scene he has w/ the first 3 wives??

  • here we can see how Elizabeth Tudor could be one of the best queens of England: look at her personality!!!!!

  • Henry: And if it is your pleasure to remarry... Catherine: (whimpers) (Inside: Yes! Thomas Seymour, here I come!)

  • It's true @OmegaOprah she killed many innocent Protestants her beliefs were ridiculous at the time.there were many protestants already and were rooting for Princess Elizabeth or Queen Elizabeth I and she did a great difference.

  • the girl who plays elizabeth looks like she actually could have been the daughter of natalie dormer.. just something about the eyes i think

  • bless you child, thats it

  • Let's not forget that as messed up as Henry was and as insane as Mary became, Elizabeth had her own share of grievous faults as a monarch. Everyone glorifies her, and yes, there is some justification for that, but she was one of the major factors in Ireland's centuries-long oppression, an oppression that brought about far too much suffering lasted for FAR FAR too long. If the Tudors hadn't planted English nobles in Eire the whole nationalist/unionist conflict might have been avoided entirely.

  • Is it wrong to find him still attractive as an old man?

Sadd scene I feel for his kids

  • I so hope they make a next series, about Bloody Mary!

  • When did Elizabeth walk out? I didn't see her walk out?

  • Hahaha the guy playing Henry vIII is like 30 and looks nothing like Henry and his voice sounds stupid....surely they should have got an older actor to play the part realistically :)

  • I'm wonder what was Elizabeth think when she leave the room..

  • @NocturneViolin She thought ...right as soon as them other two kick da bucket..am gonna be a hella fakin brill Queen an am gonna shag Essex , leicster , drake and raleigh.....kick them spanish and frenches asses and buy some fakin well good jewellry....oh and that french/scots bitch Mary ?...I'll let her live in England cuz the scots kicked her catholic ass out but if she fakin crosses me am gonna chop her fakin head right the fak off :)

  • Let's be logical about this "Bloody Mary" reigned for what 4years? and had something like 300 executed. THAT is the reason she was dubbed Bloody Mary. Both Henry and Elizabeth's reigns were considerably longer. Comparing how many they executed during their reigns and how many Mary did during hers is like apples and oranges. As for Mary Queen of Scots she was imprisoned for 19years and I'm sure Elizabeth could have had her executed at any time. So an hour to sign a death warrant seems redundant.

  • @chookfeather yeah, but henry had thousands killed in his reign, so why was she dubbed Bloody Mary if she need kill half as many as her dad?

  • @JessicaLouiseMusic Sexist attitude? Who knows...but probably due to time scale. His reign compared to hers was a lot longer...she killed a lot in a short amount of time and because she was a woman it doesn't really sit well with some people.

  • @chookfeather That makes more sense :)

  • @JessicaLouiseMusic its because she had no reason to. Henry was just as blood thirsty but he had some reason. When mary killed she didnt just kill one person, she killed that persons whole family, even if they had no connection to that person

  • @Aquamarien0x0 BS. The propaganda you people read ans spew makes me sick. Also, your last sentence didn't make sense.

  • @Aquamarien0x0 What? No she didn't. Her total burnings were 300 over six years.

  • @JessicaLouiseMusic Because Henry reigned for nearly a lifetime, Mary only reigned five years; how many would she have killed had she reigned as long as her father?

  • @JessicaLouiseMusic

Mary had a shorter reign, disastrous marriage, she lost Calais.

Henry had a longer reign but is more known for his wives.

  • @JessicaLouiseMusic Because Mary was a woman. It's always looks worse when a woman kicks someone's as! than when a man does. Sexist pigs!

  • - Reign. And all this information that I have given you is what I found out from doing my history degree majoring in English History

  • @SummerLovinOX

Most of the protestants who were executed during Mary's reign were burnt at the stake, which was the common punishment for heresy (religious matters, as in not having the "right" faith or/and sinning), while most of the catholics executed during Elizabeth's reign were HDQ, which was the common punishment for high treachery (plotting against the regent). If the protestant Mary executed had been assassins they would have been HDQ:d - or at least beheaded (like Dudley and Jane Grey

  • @creadiem1 mary was repeating the same actions her grandmother did years ago when she brought the inquisition and allowed the auto de fe >,>

  • @Tekirai Yes, and what crime did the Spanish Inquisition "punish"? Heresy, hence the burning.

  • @creadiem1 yeah.....i facepalme the day it was invented >,>

  • - to the roman arch bishop, she was taught by her mum to follow he husband. That isnt an excuse but it gives an understanding. Anne Boylen was a bitch to her so off course she would hold some resentment to her dad. However that isnt the reason why she murdered all the Prosentents. The Prosentents were Egar to get Elisibeth of the throne they sent MANY of assains to kill her some on Elisibeths comand. Mary however never sent any assain to kill her sister. Her sister lived quite comfy in Marys -

  • @Sanddressa OMG do you really think Elisbeth remained fair and constant? And do you really think she wouldnt want to sign the death warrent? Did you just get this from watching the tudors or Elisibeth. According to offical documents around that time it only took Elisbeth and hour to decide and she signed the document to kill Mary of scots because England believed Elisibeth shouldnt be queen cause she was illegitamte she was very quick to kill Mary. Mary was married to Philip and he was family -

  • Didn't Anne Stanhope lay claim to the right to wear the Queen's jewels as she (Anne) was the Lord Protector's wife? Then what about Henry's instructions regarding the people treating Catherine Parr as though he were living still?

  • @RebelliousOne12

I read a quote somewhere once that said (more or less) "Who fears the wrath of the king once that king has died?"

  • @OmegaOprah Mary wasnt the worst and blood thristy mochary in history. Dont get me wrong she ended alot of lives, however Elisibeth killed tons more people then mary and so did henry however again Mary is only know as been blood thirst as she only targeted one group of people wether elisibeth slaughtered everyone.

  • @SummerLovinOX ...who did elizabeth slaughter? lol. She wouldn't even sign the death warrant for Mary of Scots, who she KNEW was plotting to kill her. Elizabeth was a proud, tempermental woman, but she was also just. Mary was so shamed by Henry's dismissal of her mother that she was utterly consumed in her mission to restore her mother's Catholicism to England. Mary was blind to reason, and it eventually cost her the crown and the love of her people. Elizabeth remained fair and constant.

  • @Sanddressa Elizabeth was a proud, tempermental woman, but she was also just.

So beginning Englands involvement in the Slave Trade was just?

  • @Sanddressa Mary was a woman caught in the power struggles of men. She wanted to be a wife and a mother, preparing for a life similar to her mother's, not her father's. She was disappointed throughout her life, seeking solace in her religion. She killed people in the name of Catholic Church, just as Henry killed the Catholics fought against his Church and Elizabeth oppressed the Catholics. She was a decent monarch, the first female monarch in centuries, faced with the ruin Henry left behind.

  • It's heartbreaking to me because I just lost my father too and I would act like Mary, though I would try to be strong for his sake.

  • i dont get it, y does elizabeth just walk away?

  • @roxylulu1

I think because she doesn't know how to feel. She was three when Henry had her mother executed, and I'm betting she didn't know her father very well, and may have been fearful of him because of what happened to Anne may happen to her. Like Anne Von Cleeve said in the earlier episodes "If I don't please the king, will he kill me?"

  • @roxylulu1 She doesn't want anyone to see her cry and how much she loved her father. She's being proud and strong, as Henry instilled in her.

  • OMG, as much as you want to hate Henry for being such a heartless tyrant, I cried when I watched this scene. I actually felt bad for him. Kinda

  • OMG, as much as you want to hate Henry for being such a heartless tyrant, I cried when I watched this scene. I actually felt bad for him

  • I love how Elizabeth just walked away, but historically she and her brother wept when told their father had died. Throughout her life, she adored Henry in public, but Anne Boleyn in private. Either way, Henry just got pwned! Go Bess!

  • I just love the way Elizabeth looks at him as though she's thinking: "For God's sake, die already, will you?"

  • is this the end of the show or what?

  • @Sunako24 No, the very end is where Henry sees Holbein's portrait of him.

  • The way the made Henry in this episode is terrible. The way he speaks and acts is awful.

  • lol what happend to Henry's voice???but its a sad scene I love lElizabeth and Mary's looks :)

  • I don't think it was a sad scene, I never liked King Henry, he never thought of anyone else but himself, he didn't care for his children, each of them suffered in different ways by his hand, nor did he care for his people. He never should've been King, he is listed as one of the bad kings in history in my book.

  • i love how Elizabeth was so poise and confident....just like her mother.

but was so much like her father.

  • @darthroden i think ur right but of course anne was innocent while mary i dont think she was [but maybe im wrong]i see ur point and i agree eliz was no saint but a great ruler even with her bad sides.but i personally think her mothers death was essential and maybe its one of the reasons deep inside thatshe never got married

  • In many ways, Elizabeth was the daughter who was the most like Henry.

  • @darthroden She had the same interests as her father and inherited his temper to, but also his strength, courage, philosophy and intelligence.

  • im sorry but he just looks so funnie :P

  • They make marry seem so nice. It's hard to believe she becomes one of the worst and most blood thirsty monarchs in history.

  • @OmegaOprah

They also showed the circumstances that led to how she ended up becoming "Bloody Mary" her abandonment and mistreatment by her father, denied seeing her mother before she died, her isolation and fear of growing old alone, her growing hatred of how her and her mother's faith was torn down in England.

  • @B3Ger

Where did you get your facts? The queen of Scots was executed for plotting against the Queen. Elizabeth, vain and stupid? I thought that was the religious superstitious Jesus freaks like you. Next time, do a little research before opening your mouth to avoid embarrassing yourself, history altering, ring kissing, pedophile sheltering Jesus freaks.

  • @Morinaga82 Elizabeth was VERY vain, notoriously so. And while I wouldn't call Elizabeth stupid, her reign is--in the opinion of many modern historians--overrated; she had a lot of luck.

  • @kragey

40 years of luck. That's a long time to be lucky.

  • @Morinaga82 Take a look at her reign. What did SHE, herself, really do on a regular basis beyond promote the arts? Yes, she did some great stuff, I'm not discounting that. But she was often indecisive and lucked out of many bad situations that just resolved themselves.

My point isn't that she was a BAD queen, just that people act like she shit roses and was some kind of royal genius. She was no better or worse than most monarchs.

  • @OmegaOprah Mary was not more cruel than other monarch in that time. It is just that Historians focused on her.

  • @OmegaOprah hahahahaha if you judge it so .... then let her own father and sister as demons. make me feel as if the blood of the Catholics of that time did not have any value.

  • @OmegaOprah i know little did they knoe that she'll embark on a massive killing spree that would earn the name "Bloody Mary" even into today

  • @OmegaOprah After I've begun reading Mary Tudor: Princess, Bastard, Queen, this series was quite spot on in how they portray her. She was not 100% evil, she was just the product of unfair treatment and her religion was the one thing in her life she had some control over and it unfortunately lead her down the road to what she became. It's absolutely no excuse for the crimes she committed against her own people, of course, but try not to judge her by stereotypes and try a book about her first.

  • @OmegaOprah After her upbringing I can hardly blame her.

  • @OmegaOprah Well, not exactly nice, seeing as she often wished death to protestants and was not at all tolerant towards others who didn't share her beliefs, but I do like how they concentrated on her development into what she became as a monarch and justified her character.

  • @OmegaOprah They're not making her into anything. This is actually the most unbiased portrayal that there has ever been of her, if you look at the others you'll realize that.

  • @OmegaOprah How many did she kill?

  • @OmegaOprah but she really wasnt....

  • @OmegaOprah Also they made Mary look attractive which judging by historical potrairts of her is not exactly true

  • @199019852007 Unture allmost all the pictures of mary are of her in her 40s health and stress took a toll on her when she was younger she was actually prettier than elizabeth.

  • @ZoeCEubanks - very true , in her youth Mary was renowned for her beauty around the courts of Europe - the images we have of Mary today is of a bitter and cruel woman approaching middle age , in tudor times a woman of 35 would have looked like a woman of 60 by todays standards .

  • @ZoeCEubanks of course Mary was hot when she was young, she was the product of English and Spanish blood, most people of mixed blood are usually hot.

  • @OmegaOprah MAry was not a bloodthirsty tyrant, she though anyone that wasn't Catholic would go to hell. She thought she was saving her people from a fate worse than death. She didn't kill people for fun.

  • What was the music playing when they walked in? It was before this season actually started in the clip.

  • i love how elizabeth just walks away. it shows that she's strong, but also not too emotionally attached to her father.

  • @pumpkinflowers

To be honest, Elizabeth wasn't emotionally attached to much of anything, except to England when she ruled it. She renounced much in the way of attachments, even denying herself marriage and or love out of personal duty.

  • @pumpkinflowers

Elizabeth wasn't too emotionally attached to anyone, it wasn't in her personality....remember she had her own cousin beheaded.

  • @pumpkinflowers she did love her father, but she cant forgive him for what he did to her poor mother

  • @pumpkinflowers I just love how Henry got the son he wented yet its the daughter he spent the least bit of time with that ruled over england the longest and who is the most remebered

  • @PrincessKarrah The 2nd irony is all 3 of them got the crwon, esp Mary & Elizabeth even though Henry didn't believe woman could rule in England. /it was like all was righted.

  • Yes, he got a son he wanted but just for the price of killing his wifes / he was jsut a big fat uglz creature and thsi serie is just american fantasz and has got absolutelzx nothing incommon with real history. I wath much more realistick BRITHISH miniserie and it reallz fantastic. This americna version sucks a lot.

  • @rymicka I honestly think more of us would be insulted if you spelled everything right. Of course it wasn't all true but they kept to some of the facts but they can't put a fat ugly man to portray a king. They thought this would get more people watching and it did.

  • @PrincessKarrah If her letters are to be believed, Elizabeth adored her father. Feared him, but adored him.

  • @pumpkinflowers ...Elizabeth did not walk away. She remained where she was and the camera panned behind her and followed the King. So I guess it doesn't show anything about her being strong or unattached. The things people read into things that aren't even there...hilarious.

  • @Pipe61 Elizabeth is shown as a strong character in this scene because she stands firm and resists the urge to cry in her father's presence, compared to Mary and Katherine who both start crying. I don't think it means Elizabeth is unattached; it just means she was strong enough to hold it together, unlike her female relatives.

  • @cardwitch91

Her strength juse proves that Elizabeth was the true Queen of England. Not Mary and her over-baring Religionous ways.

  • @Pipe61 I believe they are meaning when she walks away at the end of the entire scene which is not shown on this video. In the full scene after Henry goes to walk away and Mary and Kate are still crying it shows Elizabeth just turn an walk away almost completely void of emotion.

  • i totally agree! it was a smart way to show their relationship between them! after all he and the court referes to her mother as a whore and she was called a bastard! if it was not for henry's later wifes(jane catherine paar and anne of cleves) she wouldnt have been in the succesion line again!

  • @pumpkinflowers I noticed that also. Her reaction was: "Oh well"

  • MARY RULEZ!!!!!!!

  • wow elizabeth was really cold at him,and when she leaves abruptly wow.but he got what he deserved i would the same as eliz, no wonder she is angry at her father he is the reason she never married not to mention that he executed her mother.poor anne boleyn you were the best

  • @QueenAnneBoleynkatia

Well to be honest, it wasn't because she was so much angry or resented Henry, far from it...Elizabeth was not one for emotional attachments. Her life was dedicated to England when she became Queen.

She would never forget her father had her mother killed...but then again Elizabeth had her own cousin Mary Queen of Scots executed the same way, so her own hands were not clean either.

  • i don't care what people say i like how the did the Elizabeth character i think the actress did a good job her and i think they made her look the way elizabeth may have looked like

  • @kaybbayyy2362 I totally agree with you 100%. They did a fantastic job as casting her for Elizabeth

  • How is h saying goodbye? Is he crawling into some hole to die or something or going into isolation? I'm kind of confused, but it's still a great scene though.

P.s. Can't wait for the dream sequence, I want to see Anne Boleyn again.

  • @mickoscuro He knows his time is coming to an end, so he wants to set the record straight. Many rulers died suddenly, without setting out some guidelines or a "will" of sorts, and it caused a lot of mayhem.

Not to mention that unlike a modern family, royal families didn't usually see each other on a daily basis. This was probably his one last guarantee that he could see them all together.

  • Yeah, it is a sad scene.

  • this is so sad. I could cry when he says "bless you child. bless you." to Elizabeth. and when he says goodbye to Kate Parr. she really loved and appreciated him in the end.

    great music btw.
