  • I found KDE 4 utterly unusable. Rather than improve and expand on the features of KDE 3.5, they remove 99 percent of customizing the user interface (the ONLY reason I even use Linux over Windows) and leave the end-user doing their beta testing (Their words!) You can't even change the Panel's color from black or create an external task bar, two biggie for me, nor even move items inside the panel itself, if your icon is on the left and you want it on the right, too bad you can't move it!

  • a) Yes, you can move items around inside the panel. Go to Panel Settings.

    b) You can change the color from black, albeit the only other options are gray and white (going along with "themes").

Otherwise, I pretty much agree with you. KDE 4 blows.

  • I use Windows Vista Ultimate SP1 on my comp with 2 GB RAM and it suits me fine. I really could care less about the KDE4 and Ubuntu but it looks neat. I just don't really like how it's setup and designed. Yeah sure some of the other OS's can be faster but Vista Ultimate SP1 is fine for me. Leopard sucks, Ubuntu is eh and KDE4 is OK. I might try it out!

  • Good Video! 5 Stars!

  • weon sobrao

  • This video rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • wow, this is probably the worst "reviews" i've ever seen. Terry Osborne talks about widgets a little bit, and maybe the menus and his impressions of how "pretty" it is, but other than that, nothing useful whatsoever about KDE4. Hey dude...why don't you do an actual review instead of rambling about everything other than KDE 4. Are widgets the only thing in KDE 4? No. There are tons of really cool applications which are included. Do some research next time instead of wasting our time.

  • Yeah. But mostly, the guy's wa-a-ay too nonchalant to be interesting at all.

  • i dont know a lot about widgets/desklets/screenlets and the differences between them but if you get the screenlets for ubuntu, you can set them easily so they appear or disappear with a toggle key like F9.

  • really cool video =)
