Doug Williams is a classy guy and was a good quarterback. However, all he did was take over a "built" team after Joe Theismann got hurt. The team was already a contender. All Doug had to do was emulate what he saw Theisman doing all season. He still had to execute well, and he did, but I'm not sure he could of took his team from garbage to a contender like Joe and Eli did.

I agree with you.But unlike Peyton he stuck with the team that drafted him back in 98(colts).At that time was a terrible team than the giants & chargers.After 9yrs Peyton got his ring.He stuck with the team through thick & thin.He made his own decision & not take Archie's advice including college by going to Tenn.I have to give Peyton extra Kudos for that.Eli would of still made it to a post season game if he stuck with the chargers. Eli's decision got him to the SB earlier than Peyton.

You have to understand the Chargers had two QB's going into 04, they had Brees and Flutie, and that time Flutie was past his prime and Brees (a good QB) wasnt being played. Now the Chargers drafted Eli and, Eli didnt want to be stuck in QB Limbo (ala Brady Quinn) so Eli demanded a trade, the Chargers got Pillip Rivers and Eli went to the Giants deal worked out on both sides. Manning described his refusal to play for San Diego was a result of feeling that San Diego would not pay as well as most other teams.
