@StingRayNet He actually wrote a (decent, though certainly not up to par with Brian's stuff) song called "Everyone's in Love With You" about the Mahahrishi, and I think co-wrote one or two others along the same lines. That's probably what he's referring to.
@thefonz003 I just think he took writing credits for adding a few bass notes into Brian's songs. Legally, that may be enough to get credited as a co-writer. That said, I've been listening to a lot of the Beach Boys early performances and Mike definitely was a contributor to their distinctive sound. He probably gets over credited for his writing contributions and not credited enough for his vocal contributions.

I just don't understand how Mike could be such a student of TM and at the same time he failed to stand behind Brian and the "Smile" project. What was not "transcendental" about THAT album?! That entire record was supposed to be "transcendental" to the listener.

@xtremerockomaniac No question those are good songs - although he sang very little in good vibrations - to me - his voice is not dynamic - and his tone, by itself is downright annoying- what I am saying is he takes a lot of the credit for the success of the Beach Boys that he does not deserve and I think he was lucky to be a cousin and in the right place at the right time - There would have been the Beach Boys without Mike Love - but not visa versa.....peace!
