While that was an awesome call in the 89 classic, I like his call in the distaff better. He really brought out the magnitude of the event and horses, while relating the excitement too. They're all great!

Ferdinand always seems to come up short in close finishes, he got nosed out in the 87 Strub and the Big Cap, and then the following year to Alysheba...this might be the only time he won a photo finish.

they should have a mandatory retirement for these horses, cause they are the one that earn all the money after all, my favorite BC, Alysheba chased him hard but Ferdi was all out all the way, RIP, sad that alysheba is in stud duty at 24yrold, in a far land..i hope they r treating the son of alydar well.

Alysheba was the three year old, Ferdinand the four year old. Ferdinand was a great race horse, but Alysheba was a few notches better.
