An insane asylum on Benefit St? Wow, another new thing I've learned about that street. I have a profound interest in the history surrounding Benefit St. Does anyone truly believe that Poe's spirit can be spotted along this street along with the supposive horse-drawn carriage that has gotten so much attention? They certainly spark my interest even more.
I'm glad you appreciated the lightness of my concept.. I suppose my point was that he wrote a great deal, mostly correspondence, but a lot. I, too, years ago read the canon of HPL. Cthulhu lives.
Lovecraft actually didnt write hundreds of stories, which is unfortunate. He wrote about 100 stories on his own or with other writers. Many he merely revised for them.
I myself have descended the ten thousand onyx steps to the crypt where imperishable Mhut still preaches to his thousand mummified acolytes; have crouched on the shore of Hali to listen to the song of aeon-departed sirens: have idled and gaped through the flower-festooned streets of Sarmaintioc, and heard the weeds whisper beneath the moss-shrouded trees in forgotten groves. I have abased myself before batrachoid Tsathoggua in a nighted cavern...
