Team Fortress classic isn't the original game. It's a remake of Quake World Team Fortress on the same platform as Half Life 1. Just want to make sure everyone knows that.
Guys, i dont get whats the prob, if you play tf2, your not forced to wear hats or they'll ban you, its just somthing that you can do. and if you dont like a game, stop playing it, dont rage about how terrable you think it is on the internet. if you want a really fun source tf2 like game play fortress forever, and stop raging.

It is SUPPOSED to be a sequel to TFC, as in a better game. I see no steps forward(unless you consider silly gestures, voice commands, and hats, ect.. to be a step forward). They removed the things that made the TF franchise great and replaced it with noob friendly game play.
TFC is designed to reward good teamwork, TF2 is designed for noob turtling.

TF2 is more about capturing control points, that's why it takes 15-20 seconds to respawn. Hats, other weapons and crits are only for fun, competitive play bans almost everything non stock to be balanced

Fall damage was implemented in TF2 to balance things out, or everyone will be just spamming rockets, also granades were removed for that reason, every class have a role, they shouldn't all have adv. mobility

If you complain about hats, other weapons, crits, and the aesthetics of the game itself that's fine, but they don't affect the game in the slighties, only in pubs, but the same can be said about TFC, you can infiltrate into a base as Scout and steal a flag in front of a heavy and a sentry gun if they're bad enough

It's a type of invisi-watch.If you're wearing it when your shot, you will use little health points and it will leave a fake dead body on the ground,watch out for pyrosmthough,they got REAL powerful lately. But sadly, you don't get it when you first buy the game. You have to unlock it.
TFC is looking good (i mean beside graphics which i don't really care as long as i can see something it still have the good gameplay beside when everyone decide to take soldier and spam grenades at the middle of battlefield that become a real "No man's land")
People should realize that they shouldn't compare 2 completely different games. Both take skill and practice. Both have a variety of features. Like the scout, in tfc he uses a nail gun. I'd go for TFC anytime. Concussion grenades, no super-uber-weapons coming with every patch. F***ing spies and snipers being useless on most maps being the icing on the cake of awesomeness.
TFC is still unmatched as a team competitive game, not even by CS. It brought together skill, reasonable sized teams and a lot of strategy without having one-shot-kill elements. TF2 was fun, little (yet less competitive) game until they started patching it to death.
TFC was great, nothing like a detpack kill to put a smile to a demos face, spamming spy concussion nades, conc jumpin like a champ as scout or medic. not to mention the amount u could mess with it (easily using any weapon with any class on any server, and changing settings so u could run around completely upside down and making it impossible to be head shotted lol) TF2 is definately my game of choice tho, even if TFC did let me play on dial up like... 10 years ago :) Nice vid bro

Back in TFC, you could drop the flag by throwing it a small distance, which allowed some interesting strategies where a player could sacrifice themselves picking up a flag and then throwing it out a window to their teammates.
I like both games, but I really enjoy the effort into making the sequel look something comeplety different. unlike COD, which the sequels are just a numeral change.

TF2 is better
Scout = downright upgraded.Can actually kill and survive this time.
Sniper = was nerfed,but its still the same aspect
Soldier = Didn't change so much either
Demoman = Thank God the stickies actually stick to something now.Better for S-jumping
Medic = Was nerfed but he deserved it,he was OP.Good thing you can't instantly kill someone with poison now.
Heavy = No change.
Pyro = Was buffed and is better now.
Spy = fuck tranquilizer
Engineer = Dispensers give health,better in every way.

And you're right about the medic being OP, but damn do I miss running into enemy respawn and just infecting the crap out of everyone and watch the kills rack up! Plus you would get even more kills for cleansing your own infected team! Total win/win if the other team had a medic.

Balanced doesn't mean better.
If all classes are balanced, there's no need for teamwork.
In tfc you have to adjust tactics for each class, and there you are better at some classes.
In tf2 you can play any class and make kills, even without teamworking.
But at some point I agree, it makes the game a little bit more fun.

@Dreadios I can make TFC looks like shit by pointing out its flaws too.Scout is total shit,medic is overpowered,pyro is useless in every way,there is no resupply cabinet (you have to wait for ammo/health is someone else takes it away),sticky bombs are hard to sticky jump with,heavy does about 13 damage at long range,all servers are EMPTY,all the maps are unbalanced medic/scout/soldier fests and are impossible to play engineer in,and on top of that THE GRENADES.Nuff said.

you can throw ammo, everybody drop ammo when they died it wasn't that hard to find ammo
maybe it wasn't the point to sticky jump

the grenade was to take out sentry and do splat damage

Respond to this video... -The balance is worse than TFC at the highest level of play.
-20 second respawn timers make spawn camping a dominant strategy.
-Offensive capabilities were limited so turtling is encouraged.
-Armor was removed.
-Shells, Nails, Rockets and Cells were replaced by universal ammo (picking up a pistol will magically refill your rocket launcher).
-You can no longer throw ammo.
-You can no longer throw the flag once you have it.
-Critical Hits were added

Back in TFC, you could drop the flag by throwing it a small distance, which allowed some interesting strategies where a player could sacrifice themselves picking up a flag and then throwing it out a window to their teammates.
