I was watching the whole sreies the other day, I don't know if it is in the same level as The godfather, I've learned so far that opinions are relative, even the best critics can be wrong, but I can safely say that the part 3: The Proxy War is a masterpiece, and one of my favorite films of all time.

@thefriendsociety lol you may have slightly missed the point of the Godfather then. It was supposed to be as exaggerated and romanticized as possible. The main focus was not on the world of the mafia as it was on the themes it explores. It was a bloody Shakespearean tale in the modern era. Realism was the last thing it attempted.

I love The Yakuza papers as much as anyone. They're EASILY some of my favourite films. But to claim they're better than The Godfather films is pretty embarrassing.

Sometimes I see the Japanese Yakuza films, I didn't understand why police forces couldn't do anything? If organized criminals kill each other my country using guns, may be central government declared martial law to protect the civillians.

the yakuza papers is the most gangsta or all gangsta anything goodfellas, Casino,Hoodlum cause like the it was based on the real but these dudes were ultra wild putting ads in the newspaper telling them your gonna kill the other gang and the police don't even trip wow

Shozo was just a misunderstood guy. He believed in the Yakuza code, but his brothers were so into the money and bitches and other bullshit...they lost their honer and humanity...but Shozo....he was straight up kinda dude. Shozo was the real deal!
