It's all animation. You also have those gray areas where cartoons aren't even 100% American made, but written and story boarded in America, then shipped overseas to be animated (Batman: TAS and ThunderCats are two prime examples). This process has been in effect for at least 3 decades, so you have a mishmash of all kinds of styles. So you can't really categorize animation by area unless you're a stickler for details. You can't even say Disney is 100% American animation...

i have a tip for this scene, i noticed the character is in the forest but i can see a lot of sun light in the bkground, you could place a few strokes of light contours on her to make her look less flat,it is more work but will make the shot look much better !

It's good, but hopefully you have an establishing shot before this, even if its a close up of her feet hitting the ground, land scape shot or something.

Sell some pace to the audience before showing us the character.

Toon Boom is fantastic (and cheap!). Ive been using Flash for over 8 Years and Toonboom for a year, and for 2D Animation Toonboom Studio delivers the best possible outcome for on a budget.

It's not perfect though, so its best to use a combination of programs. A compositing program is important to have when making a proffessional 2D Animation. As well as an editing program.

You should, if you are using one of the the new flash (Macromedia Flash 8, Adobe Flash CS3 or Adobe Flash CS4) then between the two you can create something on a proffessional level.

Toon Boom, delivers also a 3D space for layered work flow. You can position the layers apart in this space, meaning when you move your camera, you get a more impressive zoom/pan.

I may do a review between toon boom and flash, to really show the benefits in animation.

I use toon boom aswell but used to draw in Macromedia Flash 8,but i like Toon boom better becouse it's easier I think at least.

My pen in Macro 8 is slaping behind & stuff,I know it's not my pen becouse i've used many drawing programs with my pen before with no problem.

Anyway are you still working on this anime?

not very long, i used to use flash sometimes, but i always loved to draw anime, and have used a couple digital programs, but i've only done animation on demos for animation progrmas *havnt used toon boom yet* so far, frame for frames is easy enough, i just dont know the proper way to do it.
