  • This is just pure bad ass!

  • How 1984esque of you. Very cool.

  • The CS-80 is so out of my league that it's almost shameful for me to lust after it. Despite that, I love using CS-80V, and though I understand it doesn't have the same sound, I am totally okay with that.

  • This is the kind of music my wife hates. That's why I like it so much.

  • is this ur first song ever?

  • credit where credit is due....this is brilliant!

  • some scary shit man

  • tres cool

  • Awesome huge sound there! Great stuff.

  • Great song and video!

  • fantastic!

  • Hey tubewayarmy2005 a jupiter 8 in the hand of schokokontrol would have been as good :) The jupiter 8 is another great synth. (that i couldn't afford either)

  • One of the best synth video on Youtube, kick ass.

  • great

  • HAHA awesome...makes the jupiter 8 look like a casiotone lol

  • You like CS80's chorus, do you?

Also, did you set up the lead sound yourself? It reminds me of good ol' brass1+brass2

  • @omissis75 As far as I remember no presets have been used. The chorus effect is not from the CS-80 (which is a bit noisy) but from a SPX90.

  • cheesey clip :)

  • Really cool and creative.

    Well DONE!!

Bonus points for using the greatest polysynth of all time.

  • Beautiful, original and very modern track,

Now this is futuristic rock and roll to my ears !!

  • Logic System vibes!!!

  • If i sold my soul i still couldn't afford a CS80.

  • how much does it cost to have that beast serviced

    and retuned

  • This almost sounds like something that Vangelis might have done for Sir Ridley Scott's "Blade Runner."

  • @Scifimaster92 Alternatively, it would have worked well as an "alternate" theme song to a series such as "The Vampire Diaries."

(Okay, I admit, I do kinda like that series, thanks in large part to its lead actress, N.K. Dobrev. In my opinion, she is a beautiful and extraordinarily gifted young woman. And yes, I know that's somewhat off-topic, but I just had to point that out.)

  • very interesting stuff here.

  • why the cs80 is totally detuned is it a hardware problem?

  • The blade runner sound, this machine must be quit an experience when listened to it live...It must be on thousand times better than this, and even with youtube's sonic failures sounds completely awesome.

  • Oh Man..sounds like it was pulled right out of some New Wave Vampire movie soundtrack. Pretty Gothic. Favorite added.

  • Fantastic ! Sounds to me like an heavenly mix : Depeche Mode meets OMD meets Ultravox meets Kraftwerk..

  • Excellent !

  • bought the song - btw should make a longer verson. 5-7 min

  • not only is the equipment and the song great. The filming is also superb

  • Is the song about recording contracts?

  • @lambd01d LOL, including but not limited to

  • I love the way your hands are shaking as you play the CS80, like you just saw Satan

  • This synth was used to create the late 70s/ealy 80s version of the Doctor Who theme :)

  • welldone !!

  • OBSCENE, WARM and DIRTY!!! Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • May I ask how you do those more metallic vocals? Is it just layering or you run them through some sort of effectsmodule? It sound really classy, and I just love the CS 80, it sure sound heavenly.

  • @M3sslah No FX on the vocals, but layering

  • @schokokontrol Did you know that Herbie Hancock plays the Yamaha CS80?

  • Exelente....

  • Crazy! Literally crazy good!!! Two thumbs up!!

  • WOW! Fantastic Sequencing and structuring! Fantastic vocalization within the song as well !!!

    Brilliant!!!!

  • Nice!!!!!!

  • Did you sell your soul to get that wonderful CS-80?

How have you kept it maintained?

Absolutely beautiful track btw, how long did it take to make?

  • @cprossu Maintaining this machine is sometimes painful...

This piece has been recorded fairly quickly, it does not have a lot of audio tracks

  • Where come from ths kind of bell sound, I loved your track !

If one day you want a young singer on your track, I'd love to: htt p://kalawax. bandcamp. com/

  • @Afonkyshyt The bell sound has been created with the CS-80's ring modulator

  • yamaha cs80v the last sintetizeR..

  • Nice 1 mate. I have a few good keyboards including a Juno G I've just bought, I play Kraftwerk, Gary Numan, record bits of my own stuff. I also sing & play a lot of old time classics for elderly groups but music is just a hobby. I tell you more some other time from Rich

  • very nice

  • I agree, this song is first class and at the same time a great presentation of the awesome CS80 that I couldn't afford either back in the 80's. Youtube contains lots of noise like grains of sand with just a few gems buried in it. This video is one of these gems. Thank you.

  • AWESOME. You know how sometimes you hear some song and don't think all that much about it, and then later, you can't get it out of your head?

I found this on sequencer-dot-de. It didn't grab me at first. Then I was hearing it in my head and had to go looking for it. This is really first-class work, inspired and inspiring! My 'ultimate' synth - which I know that I'll not be able to afford even if I can find one - is the CS80 - so it's _great_ to see/hear one being used so effectively here.

  • @sloiselle1 I know the feeling. Thank you for your comment. We are flattered.

  • Brilliant, one of the best i've seen on YT and theres a cs80 in there to boot!!!....hats off to you, I absolutely loved that!:)

  • Awsome ! like that Synth and Seq.

  • very lucky to have one of those cs80 congratulations... how many of this monsters there are in the whole world?

  • @fauvent Hard to tell. Only 2000 were ever made, so I would assumes that around a 1000 are still operational.

  • @schokokontrol Awsome! i would love to have one of those! Cheers!

  • this is stunning.. is that a cs5??

  • @aintellengreat Yup, the smaller synth is a CS-5

  • Sorry gavincurtis, just missunderstood you matey.

  • gavincurtis, its not just pressing one key, one guy might be pressing one key but one guy is playing the cs80, if you watch john foxx underpass that song is being played on 3 cs80's, if you listen to gary numans music, its not done by pressing one key, listen to airlane by gary numan, now that is played on a polymoog, i mean played not press one key and its done....sarcasm your way mate

  • @tubewayarmy2005

You clearly didn't get my sarcasm. ;)

I have a CS-80 and grew up in the electronic music era (which is still now and hopefully be forever).

I was always blasted in school band since my instrument had a computer inside it... constant ridicule.

It's not one button being pressed. It's a composition inside a human mind..... that wishes to be expressed on a musical instrument.

Not many instruments allow expression as this one.

  • reminds me of old ultravox/human league

  • Reminds me of music from the 8-bit game "Alternate Reality". Thanks for posting!!!

  • nice assortment of kit in this song. the cs-80 is beautiful of course.

    masterful! i really enjoyed this.

  • That's really AWESOME ! It's a so great instrument ! I love it ! =D <3

  • (sarcasm)You see..... this video again proves one hit synthesizer music is done by simply pushing a button once you can afford the equipment. (end sarcasm)

  • Really good!!! i've poste it on switchedonsynthesizer . blogspot . com

  • Awesome song and performance :=)

  • Great performance.

  • your hands are shaking. Hangover?

  • pressure sensitive keys, he's shaking them to add a LFO vibrato effect
