It could posibly be susan polgar, she lives in new yourk, and she is an inactive GM, so she would be more able to travel and perform this event. Just a thought.
so Amp played a pretty poor dragon against me, never castling, allowing me to push my h pawn to h6 forcing the retreat of his dark squared bishop to f8, trapping his kings rook for most of the game.
So again, he is strong, but i doubt the "grand" in his title
Also, I think play in a can suit could be rather hot, itchy, and distracting. So the gm could possibly be over 2600, but defiantly not Naka or someone 2700+. Not because I don't think Naka could lose 2 simul games, but there is no way Naka would be getting crushed in his first blitz game of the day against a 1900. Still think it's the Fed though, but it is surprising that no one recognized him.
That play is too fast for a computer assist. He could be broadcasting video with a GM screaming in his ear, but even that would run most non GMs out of time in a speed match.
Definately the Fed build but he has a thick NYC accent that would have given him away.. Could also be Dean Ippolito, John Bick, Josh Freidel or Ben Feingold. Not Naka or Waitzken. No way Bisquier...he is 80 and although still sharp of mind walks slower.
I am the guy who beat the can in this video, and after the game i apologized for all of the trash talking i engaged in. Amp said "You beat me fair and square." Definatley a american man's voice, absent of any obvious accent. -tyler schwartz
Good job Amp. Bunch of chumps who are full of themselves at Wash Park. Just listen Cornbread at the beginning talking about Bobby Fisher playing in Wash Park like he is still alive.
He's obviously a real amp can. He thinks quick, moves quick, and wins quick. Or a man who has amp for blood haha

SNL also has an intro scene where the king is knocked over to conclude the game. Seems silly but I guess a useful visual ;)

also i agree with anair01 that whoever Amp is, they must be below 2600. Based on play

Nakamura'd never concede 2 points in a 10-game simul at wash sq pk. Has to be a someone less than 2600.

shr0pshire, Cornbread is down to earth and pretty cool. (As well he should be; his openings suck.) Agreed, the others are full of themselves.

I think it is Josh Waitzkin

doubt it phyle9 josh waitzkin doesn't play chess anymore, plus he isn't a grandmaster

Then it must be Naka :)))
