@thenewageriseth It's actually Deskmate II, which was sold with the Tandy 1000 SX line (8088, 6MHz, 384K, dual 360K Floppy drive). I'm not sure if it came before or after, I think it might have come after because after this came the more feature laden version of Deskmate that came with the 286 based Tandy 1000s.
deskmate was cool. The sound program was awesome in that you could record anything, save it as an instrument file and insert it into a musical composition with the music program
I remember figuring out how to make it play music and make the screen different colors..takes me back to when I was a kid..had the Tandy 1000 with 1 floppy drive..
My family had a 1000 EX. It had 2 5.25" floppy drives and MS-DOS 2.0. We sold it 5 or 6 years ago. I miss that computer. Now I play with DeskMate 3.69 in Windows. (You can run it directly from Windows.)
I remember Deskmate, and PC-Link. That was the bomb. I was 10 when I had a Tandy 1000SX in the late 80's, fully upgraded to 750K, HAWT! LOL I still have a Tandy pin too, my step-father worked at rad shack in the old days. Thanks for posting this and (making me feel old, LOL). =^..^=
lol, wat i meant is that the sounds(except when in games like doom and such)scared the hell out of me, they were short and quick, nowadays i still jump out my chair"WTF WAS THAT" probably just me but i dunno
LOL, well, it is an omnious black screen with just a lonely blinking cursor and a few ASCII characters for company, compared to that vast buggy yet colorful wonderland that is Windows. Linux is scarier, more weird characters at the prompt, but even more rewarding than DOS IMHO.
@creepingnet The DOS prompt is the computer version of an existential crisis gone bad...very bad. Windows GUI is the equivalent of a drunken orgy, asses and elbows and STDs.

Is this an early version of Personal Deskmate? Or Personal Deskmate itself?
We had a 1000 TX model long ago and used this program.

Personal DeskMate was actually the product that shipped with the 1000 EX. It had a more graphical interface than DeskMate II.
The original DeskMate looked very similar to DeskMate II, but shipped on the original Tandy 1000 (not the EX).

This brings back some memories. I was still using this Deskmate GUI in 1994.
