i just had listeria posioning... had all the symptoms ... first i had a headache... then vomiting, on the toilet... 2nd day... same thing but couldn't stand up... 3rd day i was dry heaving not wanting to eat... because i'll just vomit it out... 4rd stayed in bed feeling real weak with a huge headache... 5th felt better ... went to work... and today i feel great... it washed me out.

Actually, listeria is caused by poor handling or unskilled workers doing the cuts. If a part of the bowel or intestine gets into the meat, that happens.

How is this being blown out of proportion? People have died and become sick, leading to a recall of meats. There is a legitimate concern here.

Do your research...more people died from listeriosis last year in Ontario than have died from this current situation. Did we find out how those cases happened...no. For Maple leafs 100 year history, to have basically this one small event is pretty darn good. Bacteria is everywhere and people get sick from food all the time. And no, it's not the conservative governments' fault, it's no governments fault.
