I just got my shipment and i ordered 1 set of insulators and it only came with 2 pieces but you say you need 1 set per connection. Is there anything else i can get to insulate the clips like electric tape?

@punkmonkey61 The 2 pieces are for one connection. You just fold each piece over the electrical clips to insulate them. It is one piece per clip not two. You have what you need.

im building wood tank 5 to 4 ft long 2ft wide and 18 inches tall with glass doors.This is for ball pythons would the flexwatt be the only sourse of heat i would need and is it safe to be on wood?

@Deano75ful You're going to need a lot more than heat tape to heat that enclosure. You can call us and we'll help you with setting up an order with the proper equipment and discuss ways to use heat tape on your wood enclosure.

@MrBeastin991 As long as it is heating there should be no issue. As well, make sure you use the insulator tape over the clip which seals it anyway.

@LeoGeckoKid We sell neither the Zoo Med thermostat (we really dislike that thermostat model) nor 4 inch size heat tape so it would be hard to comment. We know the BAH 1000 thermostat we sell works nicely with the heat tape.

Hello, I have a cabinet I want to insulate to put some heat tape in. I'm keeping 8 two inch long tarantulas in there with no racks. hello...ive supposedly heard that the flexwatt heat tape will melt if it reaches 120 degrees for to long of a period of time is that true?

@MrSerpent89 I have not ever seen that happen but if flex watt heat tape has items placed on top of it there can be much higher heat potential. Using a thermostat prevents this issue so I would recommend you not testing that theory.

@monsterenergykid78 As long as your covering 25 to 50 percent of the bottom of the tubs they are in that will work great. Don't forget to get a BAH 1000 Thermostat to control it.

I have ordered some flex watt heat tape and i was wondering what would be the best way to put it inside the cage?the cage is made of 3/4 inch birch so i don't think it would be able to go through it without getting very hot. i also got the BAH-1000DC Thermostat to control the temperature since it will be inside

@viperboi1991 Great Question - with 3/4" thick birch you CANNOT go through the wood so you would have to place the tape inside. You will need to place a 1/8" thick piece of acrylic over the heat tape and seal around it with silicone. The tape is not waterproof or resistant to animal scratching so this will protect the tape both ways. The probe from the thermostat can be taped to the top of the acrylic so that the tape is probably controlled. Thanks for shopping at Big Apple Pet Supply!
