  • @BerryTC good vs protoss, not so good against other things, a better zealot tactic in PvP would be getting one assimilator after first gateway and a cybernetics, while playing it defensively and seeing what the opponent has, incase this wont work (e.g dark templar cheese/ mass void rays) after cybernetics, you should build more gateways (up to 4) and a templar thing for legs, chronoboost legs ( while all this time pumping zealots) and then attack, this counters early expo, and not bad vs 4gate

  • Going for the most common, high pressure builds as 2 different races is a terrible idea due to the significant difference in timings for some of these builds. A standard 4 Gate hits at around the 5:45 mark. If the Zerg goes 7 Roach Rush, that hits at the 5:00 mark. So there's 45 seconds where both players don't do anything, and that's detrimental to the Zerg with 45 seconds of Roaches doing nothing.

    It's best to look for builds that line up timing wise. Usually early pool and proxy gates/rax.

  • This? Rushing? Nope, a rush in 2v2 has the Toss Gate built right next to the opposing bases. This is just regular attacking.

  • I played a 4v4 against 4 terran and they shared control and did a marine rush at around 4:30..pretty unstoppable

    Split them up into 2 groups for each.

  • the most op 2 player opening would be one player saves up a lot of minerals and gas. focuses only on economy and static defense. The other ally if it is a zerg would tech up to mutas. then at the 6 ish minutes mark, give all of your min and gas to the zerg

    and the zerg makes like 14 mutas at once. only counter would be stalkers, and mass marines

  • @vaevictusama that could be. but if your opponents knew what they were doing, they would know that it would be more effective to go for a base race. if you see that many mutas in less than 8 minute then you know they're doing something fishy and attacking instead of trying to defend from mutas would be the best course of action. Mutas will never win in a base race and depending on what units you send in the attack you'll have a high chance of killing at least one of the players, if no both.

  • @joji64theninja that is why the other player gets static defense. to prevent scouting workers and early rushes. The other team won't know what's coming. fly the mutas into their mineral line, then run away to the other mineral line. kill all their workers basically that is the game right there. normally players can share a ramp making the strategy more effective

    but what I'm saying is, if I was in that same position, and I didn't have enough AA or just felt like I don't want to be contained, then I would just take my combined army and go for an all-out attack. Static defense would not be enough to hold off such an attack.

  • if you rush dts you can easily beat this.. or one sentry.. split kill one half while your teammate beats the other... not that amazing..

  • Yeah, except this is terrible for 2x Zerg doing 10 pools, cause everyone else we play against just walls in, so then we have to play catch up, and lose in the end...

    I would say the best at this would be double Terran, one person goes mass marines, the other goes mass marauders.... both get stim.

  • Proxying the enemy natural is stronger. My friend and I have gotten to diamond doing that and moving out with 3 zealots and 2 marines. Our record with this build is 57W/25L. I tried to post a detailed build but my comment was too long. Im on my phone but I can post it when I'm home if anyone wants it

  • @firemblemrules9 its in the allies menu. just check the box Control to let other allie to control. make sure your allies also press that box

  • when it's 2v2 it is a whole different ball game from 1v1's and i think share control is a advantage no matter the skill lvl, sorry but even pro's can use help.

    In 2v2's you fight together, think and micro/macro together or you both die in the end, not say you need Share on, but it helps much more then people think. "share control not recommended in randoms"

  • 4:39 It's not so much your timing, Husky, but the fact that you have 6 extra probes on minerals. You never put probes on your second gas, and the reaper killed the 3 you put on the first one. If you had put 6 more right away on those asimilators you would probably only have like 500 minerals instead of 700. And 250 gas instead of 160, which would've helped you a lot later.

  • In like 8 out of the last 10 team league games I played so far, people rushed. Double 4racks or 4gate all the time, more predictable than the AI. It was great fun as you can imagine...

    my buddy and me lost alot of games, when we didnt rush. then we just started to rush ourself, and won around 8 of 10 games.

    blizzard should change something, and make rushes less useful, imho.

    but actually i like the approach of warcraft 3 on anti-rush-measures. every race had a unique way to counter small rushes. e.g. human HQ could turn workers into soldiers for a short time. it was not too powerful, but useful against extreme rush tactics of WC2.

    not saying they should implement same stuff into sc2. but more focus on longer games would be more interesting, imho.

  • Noobs take note from me:

    - Red didnt do a real '3-rax' build, where he could have had MANY many more marines, and an unstoppable ball of marines. (no gas)

    - Never get a reaper (enemy made this mistake, but somehow it paid off acuse Husky is bad)

    - Make sure your 4-gate timing is tight and that you get that stalker way before warp tech completes. Also, dont get two gas like Husky did (notice he wasnt even mining from it)

    More or less though, Husky is right, and T1 Push is strong for teams

  • A great counter to this build is a ZT team that goes for a 2-rax and a 5-roach-rush. That will get to the opponents base before the 4-gate is ready and still be pretty powerful. If you get the roaches in front of the marines the roaches tank the damage and the marines have the DPS. It's very powerful and tough to hold. Especially a Toss 4-gate since the toss won't have many units when the rush arrives.

  • @cpbtrifecta Actually... By the time that happens... I have about 12 units out to counter basically any rush. Protoss have that Chrono boost and it helps with getting units out faster. But yeah I see what you are getting at, but it's really tough to pull off.

  • This isn't cheesing, it has a strong follow up in case your initial attack gets defeated, especially for Terran if done right. Instead of going 3 rax I go 5 rax but only make 1 tech lab and no reactors, this way I can continuously pump out marines and if I later expand and want to build more marines I ca then build reactors on all the rax instead of having to build new rax and THEN having to add reactors to those as well. Have quite some success in 2v2 playing that way.

  • @legendin2 absolutely not... If you saw his videos about teamgames he says exactly what husky is saying here. Tamgames are about rushing and keeping the armies together, attacking early is a very effective way to do this.

  • i do the shared control in 3v3 with mass MMM between 3 people, we win everytime.

  • @Ghruul exactly, but it's all about the push before they get high tech like col or hydras.. We push when they half zerglings or marines, and we micro vs zealots. Just take out 1 player at a time.
