this drug has given me a ton of side effects. NOT told to me by either physician, cardiologist or my pharmasist.. Swollen ankles like you wouldn't believe, chest pain, left arm pain.. Depression.. I said the hell with this.. after only about a month I took myself off and those symptoms went away slowly.. Had blood work done and never before have I had problems with my liver and now I've got 3 enzymes which are elevated well above normal reading.. is this another side effect? I DONT DRINK!
I am sorry to hear about all the problems you are having. Medications affects everyone differently and I cannot say that metoprolol did or didnt cause your symtoms. Hopefully your physician switched you to a different medication to help control your blood pressure. I would take a look a your diet and lifestyle to see if improvements can be made. Drinking isnt the only thing to cause elevated liver enzymes. Review your exercise regimen and diet and see where improvements can be made.
Hey thanks for the reply, Yea I only took Metoprolol for an A-Fib. It only occured Once in my life. My bp is sitting around 120/80 (not sure if thats good) but i do notice alot of side effects while i was on this drug. I'm sure its great for those w/ chronic Atrial Fibulation .. either way I've done just that, Checked with my physician. Tho.. I feel he's kinda a quack lol bad to say but so ready to prescribe meds.. but good tips =D
Ive had good results with Metoprolol, it relaxes me. However., I have had some hair loss due to its use.
