yea. even now there isnt truly a "state champ" cuz there is a champ for each division(1-5). we never had a state playoff cuz there were so many schools in cali. it was always divided into sections. and right now u have to get voted into a state championship spot by the CIF committee

It's division I, II, III, small schools, and open division. Technically there are 5 games, but only three are considered "divisions". Central Catholic won the small school state title game I believe.
