But you know that de Guiche was Monsieur's good childhood friend at first, I think that was why their liaison was so painful for him when he found out. He was a very jealous husband, but by all accounts a kind and gentle person otherwise, I don't think he would have hurt Madame physically.
Good job, but it would have been great without the post effect
