@dellboy99 exactly. they want to "cut costs" by closing down government services and "create jobs" by privatizing everything. So soon you'll see Walter Reed replaced by some corporate run profit-sucking monstrosity (that will no doubt hold their hands out like republican banks and republican GM did for tax dollars anyway) and enjoy no oversight of any sort whatsoever and be beholden to no one. Well, I hear most military people vote republican tho, so I hope they enjoy it.
On May 13, 2005 Secretary of Defense. Rumsfeld submitted to Congress and the Defense Base Closure and Realignment Commission a list of recommended base closure and realignments.
The list comprised 190 recommendations: 33 major closures, 29 major realignments, and 775 smaller closures and realignments. Iimplementation of the secretary's recommendations would result in net savings over 20 years of $47.8 billion, with annual savings after implementation of $5.4 billion.
I'm sixty five. That make me a short timer in this shit house called the world. Brother will I be glad to get out of here. The place is run by devils. Couldn't obey ten rules you simple pigs. ( I apologize to the four legged critter )

I was there, once long ago. I went for a walk down the corridors. By one door, I heard someone crying quietly. When I looked inside, what I guess was a ward, when my eyes focused, I saw a room fool of guys laying in bed with no arms or legs. I tripped over my own feet backing out swiftly. I read the wars have cost us four and a half trillion dollars. I wonder what we'll spend on the boys that were hurt.
Oh man! if theyre going to send you to a navy hospital you might as well kill yourself! this is so wonderful that the country loves its vets this much!
Sad really... I served there, but I guess it was necessary, know the Navy medical center, is pretty good...real good

Well, that's exactly what the Republicans want. Close the whole country down. Right wing conservatives are destroying America.

This is sad. Walter Reed finally got some funding to upgrade its deplorable living conditions and now she closes. Sucks.

The can afford $2 billion a WEEK for the wars in Iraq and Afghan, but, cant afford to take care of soldiers when they are maimed.
