  • Loving Cup off of the album in question has to be one of my fav stones songs ever. I love how they sound progressively more and more wasted as it goes. muahaha

  • I was really suprised that this didnt end the new expanded Exile last summer although I do still enjoy it.

  • Please someone tell me where I can learn to play that piano riff!

  • I need this promotion record

  • Picked up the original LP when it came out in 72 when in 6th grade. Was amazed at the versatility. Last summer picked up new deluxe set with unreleased tracks. I really like it but was bummed that Exile Blues wasnt included on it being that I really thought it should have ended the unreleased portion of the CD. Thanks for post!

  • Totally agree with you. It should have been on the deluxe editon for sure!! Missed opportunity!

  • The Stones always seem to me more country and Blues than Rock, so we can forget that " best R&R band in the world" headline then guys? OK?

  • I reviewed Exile on Main Street as my latest music review......let's just say I was underwhelmed. It's on my page if anyone is interested.

  • @rockerjcc Nope, rockerjcc; not interested in your review. If you were "underwhelmed" by Exile on Man St. then you don't know shit about Music. Why would I waste my time or pollute my mind with your pompous ramblings?

  • Comment removed

  • @rockerjcc no one cares, especially if you gave it one listen and expected tracks like sympathy for the devil, Exile grows on you over time and the only reviews ever worth reading are those from people who actually spent time with it.

  • a true bluesman

  • Just great vintage wine

  • funny. Youtube links me with this song.. lol ! l☺veit.. ~exile

  • exile. rocks.period. lowdown dirty crime living that way but still.. exile rocks.period.

  • gotta luv the brotha with the 3 balls jammed into his mouth

  • what a shiity band......I wanna hear....american idyl

  • Ahh The early years of True ROCK-N-ROLL ICONS!!!

    Never Slow Down--Never Go OLD!!!

  • classic??? i don know..a great rock record..too new to be a classic...maybe in a few...seems like yesterday....guess this period is a classic....guess i'm old

  • Saved my life at least once this

  • I LOVE THIS GROUP !!!

  • the very best

  • I'd trade a bunch of old stuff from the vaults for a new Stones studio album easily. It's kind of sad they don't seem very interested in new work anymore. Obviously the big money is in touring, but I'd rather see them cut these huge tours in half and then try to record a new album.

  • @202pdiddy im just scared it wouldn't be as good as exile on main st

  • @limosince2007 You're scared?

  • @202pdiddy well, yeah i'm scared it'll be a major dissapointment

  • @202pdiddy

i think a lot of us feel the same way. not to worry. i think the stones will give us 1 more cd

  • The Stones are the mysterious apparition that haunts your daydreams. Check out The Ghost Tongue and help rock and roll live.

  • Some classic albums make you feel like you are entering a kingdom when you listen to it. That is certainly the case with Exile! :)

  • Exile is to be rereleased with 10 new tracks. I think some time in May.

  • You know the age old "desert island album" quandary; if I had to pick right this second, it'd be an easy answer. I absolutely love this album. When I take the time to actually put the CD in my car, it stays playing for months at a time. It's hardly worth plugging in a device when I have this so readily available, and solid through and through. If there's filler, I've grown to love every note of it.

  • I've heard "murky", "superfluous" and "filler" to describe parts of this album before— it is 38 years old now, after all— but I just don't hear it.

  • @KnqsX - I like your comment - I really am amazed how people rave about this album. But ironically, me too, "I just don't hear it."!!!

I say "murky" when I compare with a track like Under My Thumb, or Let It Bleed (the song). Those, to me are absolute perfection. And, globally, those albums are more focussed than Exile - that is, to me... But rock on and turn it up man!

  • i think this was a flexidisc

  • Exile has a couple of great songs, and many great riffs (Soul Survivor is for me one of the greatest in rock). There is a great album in there, but you have to cut through the number of songs/influences, the length of the songs, all the superfulous backing vocals, and excessive horns. It's greatest quality is the worship all forms of black music, but the result is overdone and murky. Aftermath, Let It Bleed, Beggars Banquet would easily be in my faves before this one!

  • @yvamarquer- W/RESPECT -You've got to be shiting me.!!- Exile was a mix of different styles, but still remaining true to the FEELING that Blues/rock/country inspires. Music DEVELOPS/GROWS - and it's done with true inspiration...and done beautifully - or it's the same old re-hash of stuff that's come before - I think (from your comment)...that you fancy yourself a 'purist'...and therefore not open to change....which is what music is all about -change...changing into something real and beautiful.

  • @farsajjj - my theory is that people like Exile so much because they've simply spent their entire lives listening to all the other albums. Amazing albums, but that got very much overplayed on the radio, in restaurants, everywhere.... So people go back and "discover" Exile, which they know much less, and feel like they have a new Stones do dig. That's great, and I agree, in a way that's change!

  • I don't think that is Mick on piano. Sounds more like Stu and his "two-fisted" style.

  • great post... in my opinion, let it bleed & beggars' were better records, but there is no denying the fact that exile has the most great songs of any stones' release! i'll give it that!

  • This album was the Rolling Stone's Kid A.

  • kid A is garbage! exile bible of rock!

  • kid A is garbage ! exile is bible of rock!

  • Too bad Kid A just got voted the greatest album of the decade... tool.

  • you know how you say this is my favorite song or album of all time and its just another catchy pop song? Well this my favorite album of all time of ALL TIME...Exile just has the staying power....cheers big ears!!!!

  • best pure rock and roll album ever!!!

  • ya gotta luv that guy with the 3 tennis balls stuck in his mouth

  • ○○○ hard boiled eggs more like ☻

  • The top album of them all besides sticky fingers, let it bleed, beggars, aftermath, some girls, ya ya's, their all tied for the best.

  • "Dig it!.. Exile On Main Street, Jack."

  • Has to be one of the Top 5 releases of all time.

  • Great! Never seen, nor heard this before. I love the "Exile" album, by the way.

  • Wow!!

  • i think i prefer this double album than the beatles white album

  • Why this album so popular, I can see zero know singles, and no real stone hits none on any complielation, why do people praise such albums, like the Beatles White Album???

But its not about one paticular song its about the album as a whole and the music it delivers and what message it represents and brings, good story album.

  • Well said, hardly any artist nowadays do these kind of albums. These kind of album is a kind of art, and music is suppose to be like this. Most artist out there today care more about the commericial perspective than the artistic perspective...

  • right on. :)

  • hahaahh "dig it." <333333

  • Guys where can i get a hold of this pweeeze!!!! I am willing to donate sperm even?

    Anyone?

  • Are you mad?

  • Awesome.

    Muddy Waters would be proud.

  • Actually, I like Muddy a lot better. Why not go to the ne plus ultra.

  • @DWilsonPromo Are you kidding? Robert Johnson would be proud!!!

  • Pure eye,and ear candy!

  • Hey, Micks singing all the song titles on the album. Just noticed this, man am I ignorant or what!

  • cool

  • Haven't you ever seen movie trailers that show scenes or dialogue that's not in the release version?

  • Dig it, Jack!!

  • beautiful. Thanks for uploading!

  • Hope you guys appreciate the great photographs that were taken by John Van Hamersveld, which is why this video is here. One of the great Rock & Roll artist of all time. He recently did the cover for the Cream Reunion CD. Great stuff John!

  • You're right, that's why I mentioned him in the description. Classic stuff!

  • Weird - a promo for an album that doesn't contain a note of music FROM the album! This was a song released on a flexi-disc given away with NME, which tries to cram as many of the album's titles as possible into a boogie-woogie tune, and turns out wonderfully well!
