This has long been a favorite of mine, but I don't think it gets the recognition it should. It is a pleading kind of song. A wish to understand this life...this world... and what the meaning of it all is... You can hear and read in the lyrics that despite their wish to make sense of things, they know they won't get an answer. Life is a mystery to be lived - not solved. The last line sums it all up.

To the best of my knowledge this is the original, Jane Siberry wrote calling all angels and performed with KD Lang.

I also love this song and found it first on a Windham Hill Holiday Sampler CD more than 10 years ago.
