Hee hee classic. This is the original. The sound used in the break down is more extensively used in the remix. Anyway, both brilliant. No offence to the above comments but where did you get your records from? Mine are clearly marked. What’s all this about upside down and inside out label pressing!!?
This tune is just as sweet as they come. Takes me back to being sixteen in '96, hearing this for the first time, I remember how silky smooth and emotive this tune was, the ethereal high end and sensuous bassline - absolutely tight production. Just realised I'm getting old, 14 years has flashed by! '95 and '96 were good to us who love(d) drum and bass and the original Logical Progression was utterly seminal, all killer, no filler, the perfect accompaniment to a good mash up, or anything really!
mixmag 21 got it wen i was in school 96 and no one new what i was on about, when i mentioned Ltj bukem, they still know nowt, and this tune still stands up today, i really do love this tune probably my fave tune ever, well in kids
This is defnitely the ORIGINAL version of this tune (from release #LEG016). Some copies of the 2001 repress have the labels the wrong way round. The Total Science remix (from #LEG017 and the other side of the 2001 repress) has the strings and pad intro, the original (this one) starts on the beat.
I am impressed with your ninja style D&B knowledge, however, this IS the original release bought '96 I wrote exactly what was on the label, this side is apparently according to the black writing on the white label the 'remix' I must admit the track on the flip side is extremely similar. If this is not the 'remix' I can only apologise and advise people just chill and enjoy the genius. (remixed or not)
This Is An Excellent Jungle Tune. 10/10 For This Tune. On A Rare Underground CD Called COASTAL SELECTION. 01 - Atomic Dog - Future Now 02 - Funky Techinicians - Air Tight 03 - Sub Sequence - State Of Mind 04 - Bliss N Tumble - Free Me 05 - Tiefenetzerrer - Subtrakt 06 - Urbanites - Comin' Thru 07 - Orca - Intellect 08 - The Spirit - Fathoms 09 - Intense - Ecstatic 10 - Appaloosa - Unplugged (Chaos & Julia Set Remix) 11 - Boogie Times Tribe - The Dark Stranger (Origin Unknown Remix)
Sorry lads - Rhum typing - meant Rantoul....BLOKE says get into Touley, he is the BOY..! even though he has a few priors due to creative differences with the old bill

This IS the Remix
I have Legend Records [LEG 007RR] 2001 re-release. The remix starts on the beat, the orig. is about 1 min longer starting on the syth sweeps.

Isn't this the Original Mix? I remember the Remix (which is by Total Science) to sound different.

3SidedSquare 2 years ago
@3SidedSquare That was a separate piece played by ltj bukem at the as an intro to the logical progression mix. The original followed.
