@AliceTRoyal Moreso when you see the version that's choreographed so that Deadeye dives over the side of the ship when he says "Foiled!" and his scene exit is punctuated by a splash of water.
@Anarchemitis I watched this for the first time a few months ago, performed on punts in Cambridge. The guy playing Dick Deadeye was pushed into the Cam. It was freezing that day. Much, much respect to that fellow.
The bass is Donald Adams. Jeffrey Skitch is the baritone. Adams was remarkable in his presence and, to me, Fancourt fans be damned, the best principal bass D'Oyly Carte ever had.
I did see him perform on stage and the Playbill notes described him as a "singing actor." I think his acting skills come through even on simple audio recordings.
I played Dick about two years ago, badassery

Great to hear this recording again and those familiar voices - Donald Adams and Geoffry Skitch unles I'm mistaken!

I always feel kind of sorry for Dick Deadeye, myself.

@Anarchemitis Aw!! Poor Dick. How come things never work out for the ugly one, anyway?
