  • who else thought Terry was the killer? and now you hate that you even suspected him because he's so......well he's precious

  • I Fell in Love with this accent growing up watching X-Mex. Gambit was hot! Rene drove me crazy with his sexy accent on True Blood. Im glad Im not the only one who finds the accent extremely sexy

  • sounds more mexican than cajun. if u want to hear how a REAL cajun sounds and what a REAL cajun accent is look up "POO POO BROUSSARD" on here hes the real deal

  • omg the title of this is so accurate. lawd , i love Rene voice so much. i know he was mad crazy but he was so sexy and nice in a way

  • *purrs* that accent just makes me melt

  • LOL at all the girls saying "OMG IF I FIND SOMEONE WHO HAS AN ACCENT LIKE THISSS <3333" hahahahahaha

cajun accents make you just sound like an uneducated redneck

  • hi accent....dead......<3

  • I have a truck just like that. :D

  • i think cajun accents sound gross, but thats my opinion

  • @nckgrza4 aww really? i think they're like the sexiest accent other than italian <3

  • @nckgrza4 Been in louisiana all my life. Couldn't agree moar! I hate cajun accents lol

  • WHY WHY do I love this accent so much. Too much X-Men cartoon when I was a kid.

  • o! thats y he looks so familiar! he played on law and order svu once

  • that funny, she played rogue in the movie and he has the same accent as gambit, they're together no matter what <3 lol

  • @Somo886 Haha, never thought about it that way. That's hillarious. He should be Gambit if they ever bring him back, but then knowing Hollwood they'll go with a young popular tv star who can't pull off a good accent.

  • @mjmac0415 and thats a shame isnt it? that would make this series AMAZING

  • That's an extremely fake cajun accent

  • @Harpwnyou He was a serila killer. It was meant to be fake. His whole persona was made up. Sookie was the one to figure it out remember?

  • "Nobody ever listens to me....but they should."

    I love Terry!!!

  • @elektraeriseros It'll be interesting what the "ghost of his past" that Rene warned Arlene about will do next season. That guy from "Scream 3" showed up the season finale as Terry's war buddy.

  • I don't care if his accent is fake because Rene is too sexy and fine and cute for it to be anything else but GOOD!!!! And yes, he does sound like Gambit!!! :)

  • Favorite accent EVER. So sexy.

  • toooo bad he is a serial killer

  • Rene's fake ass Cajun accent, you mean. Real Cajuns sound a lot sexier. And yeah, I married one. :P

  • @tekflower Must've forgotten that his accent was deliberately fake because he was a serial killer. Remember Sookie read his thoughts and could hear his true accent?

  • @mjmac0415 Well , it`s complicated because the character was a fake Cajun but a real Louissiana native .

  • @1993MovieMan Not really. I have relatives from LA and they don't have accents. Hell, they're from Nawlins and don't talk with a accent like most.

  • @mjmac0415 most people from NOLA dont talk with accents its when u geaux out to da bayous where u get them accents

  • @mjmac0415 People from "Nawlins" have a very different accent from people in SOUTHERN Louisiana...I'm from Lafourche Parish which is about 75 miles south of New Orleans and this accent is meant to mimick cajuns from that area.

  • thats how i can talk sometimes

  • He's so cute and sexy at the same time.

  • It's just how we talk is all.

  • @AlieNeoX, @thegiftedmedia: I can bet you it's because he's good looking, too. You can tell by half of these comments that they're obviously attracted to the voice because of his face, haha.

  • I don't see what the big deal about the accent is, mines exactly like this an it ain't no big deal, I'd think.

  • That accent reminds me of the Waterboy... lol... He looks exactly like my son's father.

  • Have you guys ever heard most of their accents in real life? Ryan Kwanten has an Australian accent... I'd have to say he's doing a pretty damn good job under the circumstances.

  • Not going to lie, when I first heard him I thought he was.. special. And then when I realized and heard more of him I was like "Holy mother of God THAT VOICE"

  • @tabularasaconfirmed hahaha this comment made my day. That's exactly how I felt

  • @jbp1586 I'm gonna go to school down there when I graduate, hopefully I'll be lucky. Hahahaa.

  • he's so cute o___o

  • It doesn't get much hotter.

  • I'm English and I just assumed it was a Mexican accent.. It's hard to hear, understand different accents in the US. :-S

  • His buddy, Hank? Hank Dolworth? Fuck, I miss "Terriers".

  • This guy sounds EXACTLY like my brother-in-law who is a Cajun from Houma, LA. I don't watch the show but my wife told me to listen to this guy speak because of how much they sound alike. I still can't believe it... Over the phone I would not be able to tell them apart. Where is this guy from?

  • @RazorSharpMike Haha Detroit, Michigan. Crazy, right?! He did his accent so amazingly for a non-native.

  • Im born and raised in Louisiana. Out of all the accents in this show his was the closest. I have family that sound similar to him. But the other accents in the show drive me nuts especially taras. The only thing i try to think of to justify the accents is i live in south eastern louisiana and the show takes place in northern louisiana. I know that the accents across the state vary depending upon where your located.

  • sounds like gambit to me...

  • Guys. In the series, he's someone who learned the Cajun accent from a 'Cajun for Actors' tape. So it's still realistic. Stop bitchin'.

  • Well that's CERTAINLY NOT a cajun accent, but it's actually closer than 99% of other actors who try. So congrats to him.

  • OK...I just started watching this show on DVD. I have one more disc to go (3-4 episodes/disc) on Season One. I DID NOT KNOW RENE' WAS THE KILLER!!! WTH??!! Thanks a lot :(

  • @trishrides And you just ruined it for me... cunt.

  • Comment removed

  • @trishrides i also did not know, thanks... -.-

  • He reminds me of gambit from xmen (his voice anyway)

  • taylor kitsch was good and out a lot of effort into the training, but why didn't they get this guy to play gambit.

  • I dont think he is back on the show it was halloween wen people were able to come back from the dead

  • I know he was a killer and all but am I the only one who loves that he is back on the show?

  • lol he sounds like an old black guy

  • OMG so haaaawt

  • Everyone goes on about Eric and Jason being sooo hot (and they are). But during season 1, whenever there was a scene with René in it, I could not pay attention to anything being said. To me he was the best looking guy!!

Even if he was just standing there with his arms folded while 2 other characters talked, or even if he just sipped beer at Merlotte's while Sookie went on about this and that, I had to look at him.

And that accent....oh that accent.... it made him infinitely hotter!! (>_<) ♥♥

  • Keep pressing 4. It looks like he's raping something while she's watching him...

  • Fucking Hollywood can NEVER get the cajun accent down. Why don't the producers spend the money and get a language coach for the actors who are going to try the part of a cajun? Or else HIRE a fucking cajun actor. The film The Big Easy is absolutely hillarious to us from New Orleans. LOL NOPD with a coon ass accents...puh-leez.

  • @bthor76 "Coon ass accents". Why, what a delightfully racist thing to say. No wonder Hollywood never "bothers" to get the "accent" to your exacting standards. Why pander to idiots?

  • @MoreMedication is an apt name for you. You need it. Perhaps it will help with that enormous stick up your ass you fucking political correct cunt. Who do you think you are commenting about our local standards? Being from Canada you can't get any further from us on this continent.

  • @bthor76 Who do I think I am? An individual with intellegent, non-racist opinions who can express myself w/out profanity. I have long had a low opinion of Americans, and it's idiots like you that just keep reinforcing it. Couldn't be further away from you? I wish. I'm not thrilled that our countries actually touch. Everytime I think about it I have to use hand sanitizer. Well, have a hate-filled, angry day. Seems to be the way you live your "life".

  • @MoreMedication You have to use hand sanitizer everytime you think about the United States and Canada touching? That offends me simply because I, as a person, and not hateful or an idiot, and I absolutely abhor the fact that the United States is considered to be scum by so many. Granted, the idiots are sometimes louder, but there are some Americans who actually are not so horrible in terms of acceptance and intelligence.

  • @MoreMedication More like an individual who thinks she's actually superior to us stupid southeners. Let me set you straight you fucking bitch. The colloquial term coon ass is a commonly used down here. It's generally not considered racist (unless you happen to be a dilussional witch who wouldn't know her ass from a hole in the ground). Cajuns or coon asses will wear t-shirts proclaiming that they are. Who the hell are you to stand on high and pass judgement on our local customs?

  • @MoreMedication So I know this was posted a long time ago about you thinking the term "coon ass" is a delightfully racist thing to say, but I just HAVE to put my 2 cents in. Obviously you have never been to the southern states of America, much less Louisiana if that's what you think, so I would like to inform you that a "coon ass" is not a racist term. In fact us cajuns proudly proclaim we are coon asses! My family hails from Galliano, Louisiana, cajun country!

  • Gawd, if I ever find a guy that sounds like this. -333333

  • @RobotSally24312 You'll only find a bad actor who sounds like that because it's a pretty shit job at our accents. You'll have to move to South Louisiana.

  • @jbp1586 I always want to barf when I hear some Hollyweird actor trying to do a Cajun accent. They never ever get it right.

  • @AirstripBum Stop whining , people . My God ! The real Cajun accent is nearly incomprehensible to non-Cajuns so most Actors playing Cajun characters deliberately use a " cleaned-up " version mixing the Cajun , Southern and New Orleans accents .

  • @RobotSally24312 Really? I speak like this and no one seems to appreciate it ever since I moved North.

  • @RobotSally24312 the new orleans accent sounds nice to [i'm a straight guy and I like bill's accent]

  • To all you dumb asses saying, "UGH, THIS IS NOT X-MEN, IT'S TRUE BLOOD!" We fucking know it's not X-Men.

It's just funny because Rogue (You know, the character Anna Paquin played in the X-Men films) was with Gambit, who has a Cajun accent like this guy does.

You must think you sound so intelligent.

  • @Sneezedoodle Speaking for myself, I don't think I sound intelligent when I say "Ugh, this is not Xmen, it's True Blood." It just got a little annoying after the first hundred of times it's been written on here. It's kind of like when you go to your favorite music video, like The Black Keys, Howling for You and someone starts talking about Justin Bieber. Speaking for myself, it's like "Yeah yeah yeah....we know guys. Rogue and Gambit. Hardy Har. Wish they actually had him in the XMen movies."

  • wow. that is one sexy accent. i could listen to him talk all day!

  • @ItsAlwaysADream Try living down here. I have cajun friends. I always compare the accent to smooth jazz or something like that. Sometimes sex. LMAO. When they talk, I barely even pay attention, I just like to hear them speak.

  • Mmm So HOTT!

  • -sigh- i loved him sooo much.. its a shame. ='(

  • God his Accent is soo fricken Sexy!

  • Mission accomplished.

  • okay here goes a tricky one: does anybody know the name of that country song that rene sings in jasons car?

    Thanks in advance everybody.....

  • so hot <3

  • Comment removed

  • Me and my brother sound like day

  • @camoflaugetampex She's from new zealand :=)

  • @camoflaugetampex Accent too fake for you? She's a native, dipshit. Never breed.

  • that is deffently a real cajun accent

  • Best accent ever.

  • This is the end of the 1st season of True Blood!

  • This ain't Gambit people. I know tar girl used to play Rogue in the X Men movies but don't confuse this for an X-Men, this is True Blood. He would make a perfect Gambit though

  • Have Y'all (the ones saying this is Gambit) watched True blood???? cuz if you have you WOULD NOT be saying that!! Rene IS NO GAMBIT!!! FYI, I'm a HUGE Gambit & Rogue fan

  • why are you saying this is gambit? cos it's not :/

  • @ElizabethSimons No, but the chick is the same one that plays Rogue, so the shippers get all wet hearing this.

  • @ElizabethSimons cuz shes rogue xD

  • I was born in southwest Louisiana and I sound nothing like that. I also hate sea food.

  • thats not how we sound if you want to hear a real Cajun Accent come on down to south Louisiana sha we so you a good time yeah

  • Poor Terry lol

  • Gambit and Rogue... That is hilarious!

  • Just so everyone knows, that is an AWFUL impersonation of a Cajun accent.

  • @tdc1981tdc No it's not. Im from Louisiana and while no one but a Cajun can do a cajun accent, he came close. You gotta give the man props being from DETROIT doing that accent. Stop hatin'

  • @tdc1981tdc

I don't see why you say that. You must be a cajun? I think it's pretty close. I have numerous cajun friends and I think he does a great job. Can't imagine that anyone could really perfect it but it's the best I've heard in a film yet. :/ To each their own.

  • @tdc1981tdc I think Shane Taylor's is EXCELLENT.

  • @bridget117 ME TOO! I honestly can't decide if I love his cajun accent or his real accent better :')

  • @naomilygirl I thought it was funny that I could hear his Cajun accent in his English accent and sometimes his lines went through my head in a Cajun accent and I thought "Doc Roe, what have you done?"

  • Tom Waits?

  • i can understand this much easier than a british accent.. i kind of hate those things.

    what episode is this- anyone?

  • @KerouacDon

It is the season 1 finale. (epi 12)

  • @KadalynnSaxon thanks.

  • Wow, i though they where lying but that is DEFFINATELY a cajun accent:b

  • WHAAAAAT????? "Why dont you let me give you a ride on. Igimmabodyhangdongdowndoheaven to take a look ? my way back."

    .

HA! I'm not from an english speaking country but I thought I knew English. I'm way too far to understand what he is saying, but I liked a lot the way it sounds.

    .

    Can anyone subtitle for me?

  • @caioamce

Rene said "Well, why don't you let me give you a ride home? I'll get my buddy (...) down at Auto Haven to take at a look on my way back."

  • hes sexy.

  • She's such a gorgeous woman. FML!!!

  • @RonnyVain89 you mean ugly right

  • @FingerGunProductions hayellll nno

  • why do you people make a big fucking deal out of a fucking accent

  • @OrbitFighter Because it's sexy.

  • X-men?

  • I looked this up just to see how Gambit's accent would sound like, and I found Rogue also. XD

  • some one got the accent right. wooo

  • Literally, to me, 0.07 to 0.10 sounds like he's reading a script of keyboard mashing aloud. All I hear is "I'll get my buddy Hackdonnahonnahaventekilikkaa my way back"'. Help? xD

    Lovely accent, nonetheless.

  • Mmf. <3 The Cajuns' accents are as spicy as their food... <3 <3

  • I love his accent! He reminds me of Gambit!...:D

  • I'm from Louisiana. Born and raised and I hate it when I hear cajun accents or Louisiana accents from people who are not from here. I can't STAND Sookie or whatever her name is. Her accent rather. It's horrible. I do, however like Rene's accent. It is rather close to say he's nowhere near from Louisiana. I used to like Gambit's accent. Chris Potter did an okay job in the cartoon. Taylor Kitsch, while I love him...did terrible. He didn't even have the accent most of the movie!

  • @zephariacallisto Hey, Opelousas native here. You hear Renee's accent the further towards the coastline you go, and I hear it a lot in Acadiana. Lafayette, Eunice, but it dwindles as you get closer to Baton Rouge. I was also glad to know the actor actually took accent lessons from another native here. So at least he put work in and sounds like something I'm not ashamed to hear on television. Unlike the rest of the cast, who sounded like drunk Texans. Good show, though!

  • @Phoaenix What up Opelousas! I'm actually from Baton Rouge but got people (family) in Opelousas, New Orleans, and Lafayette. Yep, Michael Raymond James did take lessons which showed how dedicated to the part he was. It was straining to listen to him in the few scenes he actually had in the show and then to go to Sookie and Bill. Lafayette is okay. I enjoy him but Tara...hell no. She sounds like an idiot. A drunk idiot from Texas. lol.

  • @zephariacallisto Ya, I'm not even from the south, but I lived in Savannah, Georgia during college and I was always with people from all over the south... Sookie's accent isn't even close. SO BAD! I hate when actors don't seem to work hard on doing an authentic accent.

  • @zephariacallisto I thought a lot of people were complaining that Rene's accent wasn't like any real Cajun accent. People were complaining it is "Hollywood Cajun" which is why they added that scene at the end of season 1 where Arlene finds the learning tape "Cajun for Actors."

I also thought that the rest of the cast were trying to do "generic" Southern? (Not that they do it that well though, lol. I interestingly find Jason to have the most believable accent IMO.)

  • @zephariacallisto Considering that she is a kiwi, she has done amazingly well to whip out a Southern accent to fit the role of Sookie. Though, I'm Australian so I wouldn't know much but I think she has does quite well.

  • the fuk did he say

  • I HATE HIS ACCENT SO MUCH! Seriously, I can stand any other accent but this! I don't know why!

  • @Myfrogsnameisbob Dugland

  • @Myfrogsnameisbob Then stop listening, sha

  • Please.... the actor that did gambit couldn't get no where NEAR this accent - and that's coming from somone ON the gulf coast. This one is the closest I've heard from someone who doesn't originally speak it.

  • He slips often into something that is really really not cajun, almost Italian. You can really tell it's not authentic if you know what a cajun accent really sounds like. He does a good job for a non-cajun though.

  • "Come on mon ami..."

  • @smally809 Real cajun's would say "come on, shaa". ;)

  • @Catwalkisnotaguru Was making a joke on the fact that people were saying he sounds like Gambit lol. But thanks anyway :P

  • @smally809 Lol. It is incredibly weird watching 'Rogue' chat with a 'cajun' in a TV series. I will give them that. It's been too long since I've read my X-MEN comics, I fail at being a nerd.

  • it's a cajun and a southern belle

    gambit and rouge

    XD

  • Man I miss Rene, why he had to be the bad guy?! Whyyyyyyyyyyyy?!!

  • ....All I can think of is Gambit right now. I'm such a fan girl T.T

  • I WANT HIS ACCENT GOD DAMNIT LIFE IS SO UNFAIR

  • I was so mad by the end of season one! I loved Rene! =P

The Cajun accent definitely reminds me of Remy LeBeau. Which is probably why I liked Rene from the start. =P

  • @pixiesiren I'll bet I'm the only one who knows who you're talking about.

  • @WhichOnesPink777 Hahaha don't give yourself so much credit, one look at the top comments would tell you otherwise.

  • @lizolizowa A lot of people don't know Gambit as Remy. That's all I meant.

  • i thought cajun was food not race

  • OMG! He's so FUCKING sexy and his accent -3...I was in LOVE w/this man, LOL

  • OMG It's Gambit and Rogue!!! This is awesomely coincidental.

  • @redSG lol that is weird!

  • I love Rene I was so sad that he had to be bad and die I also the was hero tery he's nice oooh his accent is awesome

  • On of my favourite accents. Its so unusual :3

  • it's funny like ten minutes later he tries to kill her lol

  • She can´t be alone...

  • i thought accents were my specialty until i heard the cajun accent for the first time. hardest dialect ive ever had to do.

  • This IS a conversation between Gambit and Rogue. his buddy Hank down at Auto-Heaven must be Beast. Hahahaha.

  • Lol.

...I'm just going to click out of this and go watch king of the hill now...

  • The way he looks at her at 0:37. DAYUM! He's too damn hot for this world. xD

  • I miss Rene. xD He was awesome.

  • Did i just type in Gambit talks to rouge?

  • @dolsonboy88 Haha! Cause Anna Paquin DID play Rogue!

  • @dolsonboy88 holy shit, I never even noticed that was the same actress who played Rogue, and I'm on episode 9 of the first season! Haha, but for real, this guy does an authentic yat, whereas Gambit in X-men Origins sucked ass, it seems like Hollywood hasn't realized the only way to get that authentic sounding yat is to hire a cajun!

  • I couldn't believe it when it was revealed rene was killer cause he was portrayed as 1 of the nice friendly guys in season 1 LOL
