from the basement kills the LP. It's all about feel baby. The Rolling Stones are a classic example of just record one of your concerts and put that out, KOL unfortunately falls into this category too, mind you so does KID A. The BBC sessions for KID A destroyed the record. Morning Bell and the National Anthem are seriously poor in comparison - as hard as that seems.
@talkingbeatlehead. Seems you missed that point. I do like this song a lot - that's why I'm listening to it! Kills the album version. But please, if you think the flat mixes on KIDA of morning bell and national anthem are better than the BBC live sessions then you're tone deaf, or just a frigid pleb.
@lordmalberry Flat Mixes? do you mean Studio Version? if you do then you sir are tone deaf. Morning Bell and The National Anthems are both masterpieces. Morning Bell is an eerie and mysterious journey into ones messed up mind (thats how i interpret it) and National Anthem is a chaotic adventure of music, its like the climax of a story times ten.
Yeah that's what I mean, Morning Bell mix on KID A is flat - you can't hear the Guitar parts, the atmospherics, and the rhythm section the way you can in the BBC, and with exception of the first forty seconds of the National Anthem, the live version has way more feel, the brass are playing more freely and chaotically, and Johnny and Ed's crazy sound effects are much louder creating way more energy and uping the songs. In fact I'm gonna watch BBC morning bell right now - craving it.
@talkingbeatlehead . I just think live music always sounds better. It has a certain something, you know. It sounds incredible and it hasn't been mastered and had any noise reduction put on it and all that jazz. having said that there are albums which are incredibly well recorded like Ok Computer. Al Green, beatles,Bob Marley all knew how to get that feel on their records. Rollingstones and late Radiohead haven't IMO.
this concert, and the album, really hilates the contributions of all members of the band. how important is colin! He and phil are magic together. after the groove is set, then comes another gear! the melody and then the harmonies. oh! the guitar ed plays sounds cathedral-esque, and a spinning tornado swims off jonny's guitar. oh, and radiohead played the album on guitar, so take that haters!
@MosDef411 ps, the concert is hosted on various sites around the web. radiohead just has this second and third gear they bring to the live material. I wish they would record, then play it all in a room, and then release that instead. yes. they master the material, then reinvent it in a live room. b/c they really are the best live band. 5 incredible blokes from oxford God made to be radiohead, to remind us there is still such a thing as beauty in this world. and sympathy for the downtrodden.
@Mastragat totally! Although two songs FTB i think are better live then in the record: Little By Little and Lotus Flower. But i thought Feral (although played well) wasnt as good as the album version
i don't like this song. i fucking love it.

Radiohead live performances never disappoint ! The FTB version is IMO as good as, if not better, than the album version. Thanks a lot for uploading !

Radiohead's songs don't need any videoclips. They have a 24hs playing cinema in my head.
