the thing is, the whammy is floating. so changing to drop d would wack the balance on the bridge, causing the whammy to be unbalanced, making the guitar completely out of tune. only with a heavier e string, will it balance. You have to pick a tuning on a floyd rose, and stick with it.
i would say JS100 is far better for me but play both first. THIS IS ESSENTIAL. Many people buy a BC Rich for its looks but then find they feel terrible compared to an ibanez neck.
thanks for the review man...I've bee looking for a new fast guitar and the ultra low action ...to me... is like waving a twinky in front of a fat kid...im sold

This guy is a dick. All good guitars have low action if they're setup good. And he said he didn't retune in six months. His strings must be total crap.
The adjustments this moron suggests DO NOT make unless you know what you are doing. If you choose to make the adjustments to "adjust the tension and the um bridge" and don't do it right you will have to take your guitar to a repair shop and will probably pay out the ass to get it setup right.
....setting up a bridge isn't that hard, unless you're trying to do it while fucking your own mother. adjusting the action/intonation/neck relief is not too hard if you follow the instructions. don't assume everyone's a moron. a guitar setup is also not a lot of cash at a shop.
best thing to do would be to take the covers off and draw a diagram of where the wires go. chop the wires about half way between the old pickups and the plate. then solder the wires of the new pickups to the joints on the diagram.
get a better bridge when you switch out the pups. that bridge is a bitch - you can only change one string at a time or they're ALL thrown off, and you can't even change string gauge without it going out of tune... word to the wisw...
The JS series necks are actually thicker than the RG and S series necks. (The Wizard's and Wizards II's). The JS necks are 20mm at the 1st fret, whereas the Wizard and Wizard IIs are 18mm and 19mm respectively. It may only be 1 or 2 millimetres but it makes quite the difference. I still love the JS series though ;D Nice review
so ya cant really drop d tuning on the e string cause it will fuck all the tuning up?

i don't (only) buy it for its looks xD
it has good soundpickups and many options, but yes i will play both and some other guitars when i buy one.
n00bHunter07 2 years ago
JS100 hands down, mocking bird is not comfortable at all and the neck is thicker, ibanez wizard 2 necks are the fastest neck in the world

Nice review. I might get one, I like the idea of push/pull pots, but would I have to do anything special when I change the pick ups?

You need to make sure you're using a 4 conducter humbucker. But the bridge needs one more spring thrown in the back.

thinner neck =/= better neck. Or even faster.
I'm using a strat right now with a beefy C profile neck and I can still get from 1 to 21 fairly speedily. I have big hands though.

if you use the coil tap with the switch in the middle position its an amazing clean tone i absolutely love this guitar
