hey man you can eff yourself! 42 out of 47 people saved. Well done on the coast guards part. Without them sprining into action at 3 in the moring there would be alot more dead
never confuse the can do attitude of the brave men who do coast guard SAR,with the men who end up in marine inspection, factorey ships held to a higher level of safty becouse of the large crew. This is not done at the convience of the owners. What a sad waiste of brave men on ranger, the hope is that this will lead to Coast GUARD spendingless, money on high speed Zodiaks, looking for arabs cruising puget sound, and more on qualified inspectors.
I think it's kind of silly on the part of saltwaterwilly to blame the coast guard for a ship sinking on the Bering Sea. Last time I checked,The Bering was one of the most dangerous oceans in the world. I doubt that an inspection would have made a huge difference in most cases.
Saltwaterwilly is very simply....ignorant. These type of accidents can only be blamed on two causes......the weather......and the owner of the vessel. Owners trying to maximize profits delay or skimp on repairs regularly. I served on Alaska Ranger long before her sinking and she had her repair issues way back then. DEFINITELY NOT THE COAST GUARDS FAULT!
