Good advice. As the owner of a pet sitting business for the last 3 1/2 years, I have a couple of tips. Make posters that have a picture of you doing the job and when you make the posters with little tabs so that people can just rip them off. That way you don't have to go about replacing them every few days. Last tip, choose something that you actually like. For me that would be dogs.
