  • Takes a lot of strength to do that. Not perfect form, but still decent.

  • your elbow is moving to much, just try the twist of the wrist motion, and kkeep your elbows in and in the same position, dont pull them out or in, goodluck

  • OK bro first DONT SWING do low reps and practice ur form by PUTn UR BACK TO THE WALL keep ur teiceps flat to the wall while u CURL and take 10secs each rep 5 up and 5 down breathe out goin up inhale goin down :) do what i say and u will c a huge difference

  • This is what my goal is. When I was skinnier I could curl 40s at 145lb, now I am 172lbish and my biceps never got stronger even though I bench, incline and do other compound exercises. :(

  • Those look like 60 lb dumbbells. I thought each plate is 10 lbs.

  • Pretty good. If you want a real good burn in your biceps, then when doing your bicep curls, keep a hard constant squeeze on the dumbbell grip as you curl... You'll start to feel the burn a lot quicker, and you don't even need to use a lot of weight if you keep a hard squeeze the whole time. It will give you a good pump.

  • I didnt think your form was too bad. Mabye try using a straight olympic bar for curls. That did wonders for my biceps

Shame that just because one browses through youtube and sees someone curling 80lbs or more, he also expects everyone to do that and calls any other weigh a pussy weight. 50lbs are alot and especially for natural guys and those that have jobs etc....

  • nice man well here is some advice you are starting the other arm to early on some of your curls i saw take a little breather between them and you will be able to do more reps and it'll benefit you way more and at the end it looked like you had a hemrage

  • That 50lbs dumbell is very easy on me :-)

  • Among the best form I've seen for 50lb curls...

    elbow movement is the biggest problem, especially for your left arm...

    try to stay concious of where your elbow is during the reps

  • Want a good tip. If you can't get the good form you want just drop down to 45's for a week or too. Use the lighter weight to build your good form up. Then jump back up to the 50's. And continue to use this rotation untill you get your form and eventually raise the weight more. This will also improve muscle size in the end because its a form of muscle confusion.

  • bad form u should use a lower wait and work ur way up. use a weight where u can do 8 reps comfortably

  • @katery28 wrong...if your trying to put on mass, you should go for 6 reps...your 6 should be help from a spoter...

  • well i dont think form is critically important to this exercise. I cheat only a little but over the course of about a year i went from curling 20x10 to 40x10 so i think ive made a good gain doing them even if they dont have strict form.

  • Sight... Another genius working on curls, just do like 1000 curls 3 days a week, you'll see AWESOME gains, even in your hamstrings!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • There is nothing wrong with curls. Im still trying to improve my form, but to say that curls are a bad exercise for your biceps is ridiculous !

  • Dude... Yes, curls are a fine assistance movement. That being said, they are not a major compound movement; they are performed with the upper arm fixed and are therefore isolation. They should not be extremely intense, lighter weight with good form is always better with these. You're trying to do too much weight. And you want to fix your form over time? Why not just drop the weight and do perfect form from the start. Perfect practice makes perfect. 50 lbs are too much for you.

  • @steele4real Your doing great. You have strengh. What you need to do is lose weight so your muscles will show and you will get stronger to as fat interferes with muscle.

  • @steele4real not bad! by the way, to maximize the work your biceps have to do, put your back to a wall while doing this exercise. this makes sure u dont cheat with your back

  • @mikschu if you can do 1000 curls doesnt it mean your lifting to light..?

  • Just imagine your elbows are surgically attached to the sides of your ribs, and you can only move your lower arm, that helped me. Nice job with 50 lbs, by the way :)

  • your form looked decent during most your reps, but towards the end it looked like you started to swing your upper arms alil and your arms did stay to your sides, but still sometimes i do the same for a great pump, basically after I do as many reps as I can with strict form, I cheat alil at the end just to keep my biceps coming.

    Overall nice work and pretty decent form for someone who can curl 50's.

This so-called "Super guru" (more like super douche bag) at the gym keeps telling me i have bad form and i didnt pay any mind to him until for the last 3 weeks my pump has been so weak with my biceps, i thought just maybe he may have been right.   • I was thinking the same thing, its just so hard to do... I decided to post this video because i was getting tired of leaving the gym with such a small pump in my biceps. Thank you. and PS: Mitt Romney for 2012 !
