Getting an ebow is a smart move, but if you use it clean, it kinda sounds dull. However, if you add some reverb and/or delay and/or chorus (etc.) it does sound amazing. Great band, great song. I'll be seeing them and Mogwai live at Dour, Belgium (around the 15th of july). I've got the feeling it'll be the most epic day ever :D :D

There has been a lot of tragedy in my family life. I've lost many close relatives including my father. Words will never describe the feelings that come with this experience. I just thought that maybe the reason I'm attracted to post-rock, and "This will destroy you" for that matter, is because I can put my own thoughts to the emotional tones of the instruments. This song always gives me full-body goosebumps whenever I hear it. All aspects of it - the guitars, the bass, the percussion - are just pitch perfect.

And I just love how during this performance, everyone in the room is in The Zone - whether it's the audience with their eyes closed, just letting the music wash over them, or the band itself, concentrating fully on letting the music lead them wherever it's going.

It's excellent for ambient useage.

@stevenwhiteley Tap delay with about roughly 50-60% reverb on through the mix. He might have some volume swells going, but there is no way to tell. There is just so much heavenly layering that it's hard to tell.

i used to know what its called, but its basically an electro magnet that makes the strings vibrate, which is why you hear the overdrive guitar come in without the characteristic 'picking' sound, becase theres no hard contact on the string. if youre an LP fan, check out no more sorrow for a different application of the same tool.

Well, I'd be very grateful indeed. I guess my skills aren't good enough for I can't really hear what they're playing due to all the effects they use to create the sound.
