beautiful..but all the gays is in the crowd....or just look like them....it is gently ,emotional music, but people like guys...I am not guy (maybe I don t know hehehe),I am confused now...hehehehe..joke off course...
If you can get so many people just nodding along with their eyes closed when you're playing your songs, you know you're doing it beyond right. Awesome. Instant fan.
And WTF, since when get people such awesome sounds out of Fenders?
Getting an ebow is a smart move, but if you use it clean, it kinda sounds dull. However, if you add some reverb and/or delay and/or chorus (etc.) it does sound amazing. Great band, great song. I'll be seeing them and Mogwai live at Dour, Belgium (around the 15th of july). I've got the feeling it'll be the most epic day ever :D :D
BEST song ever made. I want this song played at my funeral... each chord played after 3:20 is almost enough to bring tears to my eyes, amazing deep music
There has been a lot of tragedy in my family life. I've lost many close relatives including my father. Words will never describe the feelings that come with this experience. I just thought that maybe the reason I'm attracted to post-rock, and "This will destroy you" for that matter, is because I can put my own thoughts to the emotional tones of the instruments. What an amazing band.....I wish more people "got it"
This song always gives me full-body goosebumps whenever I hear it. All aspects of it - the guitars, the bass, the percussion - are just pitch perfect.
And I just love how during this performance, everyone in the room is in The Zone - whether it's the audience with their eyes closed, just letting the music wash over them, or the band itself, concentrating fully on letting the music lead them wherever it's going.
Well spoken...and so very very true. Music like this, played by artists as brilliant as these cannot be compared to pedestrian noise....this music, the musical equivalent of a lovers embrace, is the language of Life and Love and the very lubrication of our souls.
@chonyboy123 It's called an Ebow. Stand for electronic bow. Sends electronic pulses to vibrate the strings like a bow would when run across strings of a violin, per say.
hey you know how i know their now an explosions in the sky ripp of?! coz they said they dont even take influences from them on an interview they had. wat now
@stevenwhiteley Tap delay with about roughly 50-60% reverb on through the mix. He might have some volume swells going, but there is no way to tell. There is just so much heavenly layering that it's hard to tell.
post-rock bands find chords that usually only sound good in post-rock. Also, they skip strings in chords, or finger pick them like he's doing in this song, I believe, at least in the beginning.
THATS THE ONE!!! loli was trying to figure it out for ballipenguin up there^^ and then i saw your comment. knew what it was but i didnt know what it was called.

Haha, I wish I had ever found any tabs of this amazing band in the net. Sounds like your tabbing some? I'd be thankful if that were the case and you'd maybe send them over. (:
Well, I'd be very grateful indeed. I guess my skills aren't good enough for I can't really hear what they're playing due to all the effects they use to create the sound.
I guess I wouldn't be able to play most of it anyway since I only have a normal ebow and a delay / reverb pedal. But still I guess it would be a blast. So in case you find the time and motivation to do so I'd be thankful. :)
Great video but the mixing of the sound sucks...it sounds like Jeremy had the volume on his distortion cranked, so when he kicked it on, it got super loud. And for the better part of all these videos, you can barely ever hear Chris...
