as much as i HATED seein odom go (why not give him a couple days to cool off instead of immediately granted the trade request assholes), seein mcroberts has eased my frustrations a little. i really like this guy. he seems like a tough blue collar player who plays with emotion. somethin LA will need this season.
@WiiHacker213 - mcbobs a solid pick but there arent too many guys with shannons ups and he def isnt one of them lol. you got some serious ups when youre 6'4 and bigs get out of the way. def not comparable players tho and he should be solid. there was a time when the laker energy guy was mark madsen, it doesnt get much worse than that lol. although they still had the diesel back then
@TheFreshPeddler when a guy is 6'10 he doesnt need to jump as high as shannon brown to get the same 2 points. he can still dunk, meanwhile there are more important things you can do at 6'10: rebounding, defense, etc.
@jo0k Yup, I even feel McRoberts can start for them now if they want him to. He's at that point in his career where he could put up almost similar numbers to Odom if he got the same amount of playing time as he did. And Murphy's a proven double-double guy whenever he's gotten the call. He's also a decent 3-point shooter so that helps. Mitch did well addressing the frontcourt depth to the point where Lamar's departure doesn't really hurt. Heck, they actually got younger making these moves.
@PeekaPeep - its def a good pick up for the frontcourt but you cant consider him a replacement for odom, considering all the other things odom brought. losing a guy like lamar who can handle the ball hurts even more for a team that has a shallow guard lineup. mike brown would have def put lamar to some interesting uses. its unfortunate they didnt make similar moves instead of going after cp3. give the cursed clippers a month or 2 and half the team will be injured.
@jo0k - yeah they pretty much have to lol. def gives them options. now a guard or two would be good, not even necessarily a point, but someone who can guard a point. on top of that arenas could be an interesting gamble for some scoring off the bench
When I heard the Lakers got McRoberts I wondered why no one said anything about it... He is so underrated... I cant wait for the season, the Lakers needed a big man that can go up and get the ball on rebounds or allys.
it's good too see lakers getting some youth and athleticism, with LO and brown gone it's going to be even MORE harder for lakers to become title contenders at best. let's see what happens...
At first I didn't even know who this guy was but it seems like it is a great find. Very cheap as well. I hope they mold him into a post player as well. If given the opportunity he can average 11 ppg and 6-7 rpg.
Indy resident and Pacer fan here. You guys will like Mcbob. He is a local guy born and raised. He runs the floor well and is a great passer. He will also spot up and drop a 3 now and then as well. I can't say enough about his dunks. They are always angry and spectacular. He became expendable with us picking up David West. Treat him well LA. Mcbob is also a good guy that will not embarrass your city with off court issues and will be a good teammate. His stock will rise quickly in a big market.
@inycuda Well Said. Your Pacers are looking good. With that front line Roy Hibbert, David West, And Tyler Hansborough. And Danny Granger. Darren Collinson. I think you guys will make some noise in the playoffs. You guys are the Grizzlies of the East.
white man can jump! Did lamar ever make those kind of alley oop...I believe he also can shoot..good pick-up that is what kobe need a good role player that has no ego..
En fin Welcome to L.A.
i like this pick up its nothin big but its good for the depth and age of the team, he's a young player still developing he had 8 ppg 5 reb 2 ast 56% fg and played only 20 minutes per game, that's basically was doing for the lakers.. nice..now who the fuck is gerald green? oh well its all welcome to the LAKE SHOW, we dont chase the NBA finals we chase championships LEGO!
Josh McRoberts, Pau Gasol, and Luke Walton for Javale McGee and Rashard Lewis! Then trade Andrew Bynum and a 1st round pick for Dwight Howard! Come on Jim Buss! Make that happen!
Zadeecool........ I honestly don't know much about this kid but he adds youth and some ability to the Lakers..... I will miss Odom that is for certain... But we shall see how this kid does with some talent around him...
@a36rod This is the 1st time i've seen anything about this guy. I was too quick to knock the signing. Looks like a nice signing. 24, didnt cost a pick or a lot of money and plenty of upside.
@TheRaiderfan56 I honestly think we should amnesty Steve Blake and us our trade exception to trade for a guy like Ramon Sessions. or Darren Collison. I think we are in good shape.
He´s no Odom, but looks better than DJ, Turiaf etc. Nice addition, a athletic back up for the most skilled PF in the league.Let´s just hope that Bynum is able to pull this year without injuries and we have a nice frontcourt.
Mitch promised "big moves" and this what we get, he traded away odom for nothing. You know you could have just kept his whiny ass continued to package him with gasol in order find a suitable trade for howard or at the very least something of equal value and not some TPE that i have no idea what the lakers will do with.
@bim2x4 This guy will be better then Mihm. More athletic, excellent passer (probably most underrated aspect of his game) and 3-point range. He might not live up to the Chris Webber comparison from his high school/college years but he will still be a great player.
Well, Lakers need atleast someone on their bench except from Barnes and Blake.. Can't believe they let their two best benchplayers leave... It's pretty much Howard or bust for the Lakers right now.

Josh is only going to cost the Lakers 6 million a year including the Luxary tax. We got a young player who plays with heart and balls.
