@TaoPiet I agree. I live in Minneapolis and it is considered to be one of the friendliest bike cities in America and it's nothing compared to the way you have it set up there.
I use one of these bikes everyday and its just easier to get around and very pleasent.
I think of it as amplified walking.
You are upright and you use about the same effort and tempo as walking, except its easier. Then of course, wow you move forward at about 16km. I've just put a beer crate carrier on my bike suddenly its even more useful, Just about the best thing you can do any day. cycle
This video does not need sound to see what is going on...
Since summer of 05' I have swithced from a 4,000 pound box to a wonderfull bicycle and have never looked back...
Sometime people are suprised when they see I have a valid driver's license, or when I had a car and drove it, they could not understand why I biked insead...
In my next life I hope to be born Dutch! I am sick of America.
In this country (America) the bicycle is still thought of as a toy.
For the most part I am a utilitarian cyclist in a small community where everyone knows everyone. My children have been raised on bicycles and our present means of transportation for most of the year is a triplet, a bicycle built for 3.
It has gotten back to me in this small community that there are those who think we are either homeless or I have lost my license to drive because I prefer to ride a bicycle.
@pseudotruth I gave my car up 2 months ago and I am surprised at how much fun I am having cycling around instead and it's even snowy and icy here right now.
The lady at 6:58 amazes me so, she had 3 kids, and a stroller, and their stuff...and was casually pedaling away like it was nothing.

As a Dutchman I tend to take this for granted. This video makes me realise how special this is for most people in this world.

I think this video is extremely boring if you're Dutch and you see this 24/7.

@StlyDutch
Perhaps if it's an everyday experience, but for many people, it's cycling nirvana.

@StlyDutch Yup, this is our everyday reality..

You know, new cities need to be designed in such a way that cycling is the preferred means of transportation.
Civil Engineers should emphasis flat terrain across the town. Homes should be near employment and shopping centers and such community structures.
Motor Vehicles, Commercial trucks/lorries, etc. can be intelligently routed.
Here comes the sun... I thought I recognized the instrumental intro.

We all need to cycle a lot more and get out of those horrid stinky metal boxes [cars].
