Thank You Jules. OfficeMax used their "standard stock" for my pictures. So don't know about the acid content. Glad to learn you can print light coats on newspaper and not have the reverse side show through! I know that newspaper is much thinner than the paper stock I have. Once I obtain a can of Preserve It, I'll follow your advice to use several light coats, rather than one heavy coat like I did with the spray lacquer. Thanks again Jules!
I plan to use Preserve It on color photos printed on a laser printer and then glued with spray contact cement to black hardboard. I used spray lacquer clear finish but the color of the photos was lost. It appeared that the finish soaked into the paper and made them somewhat transparent . The lighter colors were affected more than the darker colors.
Will Preserve It have that same effect?
They say Preserve It works with newspaper. Does the back side show through when sprayed?
@frankpc3asdf Hi there! Thanks for watching! I just started using the preserve it. I was told that it will hold the colors in, but really time will tell on some things. as far as the newspaper goes. It does show though only when soaked...I do a light spray a couple different times and it seems fine:) Also remember that different types of photo paper are already acid free, so no need to add preserve it...and.. some papers may react differently with it too. I hope that helps a little. Jules:)
Hey Jules thanks for sharing because I too had never heard of this product. And, wow that camera of yours is AWESOME! I can't believe how clear and how tight you can focus on an object. Which one of your cameras were you using?
@TYJ419 Hi Tracey!! Thanks, I am so glad to share any tips I can think of that would help anyone! Every time you see my video as I have that clear clean tight look and Macro...it's my Cute little red Kodak!! I am so glad you like it! TFW!! Jules:)
oo, thank you so much for sharing, jules! i didn't know such a thing existed. so cool :)! thank you again for sharing and have a wonderful sunday, girl! *hugs* steph :)
I always see this spray but I never wanted to pay the $. I told myself I didn't need it because I don't scrapbook or deal with pics. You had to read the can didn't you Jules. It doesn't have to be just pics or paper. I have no more excuses I can use a coupon, it'll last me forever, can be used on woods other substrates. Crap Jules, what are you doing to me?! LOL! Just playing. :)
@pizza5354 I would do it before, lightly, cuz once it's covered with embellishments you can't make it acid free underneath them. I would also do it after I'm done, for other things that may not be acid free and to just coat it a little to preserve it! Thanks for the question:)!! xoxo
