ive never spear fished but i do free dive in the rivers and stuff and i can dive pretty deep and hold my breath 2 min's + while swimming .... the more you do it the longer you can hold your breath and they also have breath exercises

island were blue water fish are really plentiful, and to harvest them while freediving is the most ecological and responsible way to do it, not to mention the hard way, just hold your breath and enjoy.
You are in the abyssal zone, it appears. Tuna are deep sea fish with incredible aeronic capacity to dive very deep. Dude, awesome video. Why the camo though? lol
You will probably find that this spearfisherman also spears in coastal areas were green camo is of benefit. Just a guess but the bloke probably just uses the same wetty when he goes blue water hunting.
