  • hey don`t argue.. :) this is rodopian Gayda we call "Tulum" in Turkish. Turkish Gayda is a little bit different than this. but i`d like to say that "kaba" is a turkish word which gives big or inflated means. You see all the cultures are mixed. Sometimes it`s hard to say this belongs to this culture.

Gayda is not Bulgarian, Macedonian or Turkish or Scottish.. But this gayda what they play is Bulgarian Gayda.. :)

    full stop :)

  • Hey guys, no need of a quarrel here. Every instrument has it's own beauty. Just to make it clear for those of you who are interested. This is Rodopi gaida (Родопска гайда). What we play there is a suite of a few songs and a fast dancing tune at the end. A man whose name is Apostol Kissiov selected the tunes for the 100 Gaida band many years ago. The slow one at the beginning is called Bela sam bela.

  • Жалко е, че моментите и местата, когато се чувсташ горд, че си българин намаляват сяка секунда.

  • all pipes are wonderful - these are particularly wonderful - my heart beats faster every time i hear this - i've goosebumps all over my body as i listen!!!

  • Чудесно!

  • браво пичове

  • Kakva krasota!

  • bravo..... and i from there too... good on you guys

  • tova da nebi da e kitaec v lqvo?

    HAH

  • Bravoo samo taka bulgaria e nai-velikata durjava

  • is there a name for this tune(s)

  • @waitingforshopping I think it's a song from Valia Balkanska but i am not sure.Do u like bg musik?I am from bg and i can support u with tunes!

  • Wild music, Primeval.

Imagine playing that in the mountains, and the echoes bouncing back and forth!

    Other Worldly!

  • 100% каба гайди

  • i've seen that mostly all gayda pieces start like this. why is that? is it intrument related?

  • БЪЛГАРИ ЮНАЦИ!!!!!!!

  • There was no difference Macedonian, Bulgarian or Serb are all involved in one lump.

Our languages are the same, our mentality is the same, our music is the same difference is the politicians

  • @IzpovedniC

Your mentality is not really the same. From what I observe from C> Amer, yu all fight about Mecedonia being Greek or not, and about one country stealing the history of the other, or the pieces of land. Etc.

And It's tragic, because all the while your common enemy - the TURKS -intend to take you all back at the first opportunity. Look at what they're doing in Germany ?other E. Eur. countries.

Are you paying attention to that?

Unite or fall again to the islamics!

  • Beautiful

  • Страхотни сте!

  • My bad, you already said in the description you're playing.

  • cory, is that you in the middle?

  • magnificent!

  • bravo bulgaria!!!

  • wow...... that reaally cool

  • excellent

  • Brilliant !!!

  • I've been told that my vocal impersonation of the opening intonations for gaidai is spot on... but I don't anything sounds as good as that opening tunage

  • Don't you think that there must be a reason for all those to play with bag-pipe? Something called pan-aryanism : persians - thracians -celts

  • Well more or less i agree with you.

  • Hey u ugly retard I am not from Iran :D :D :D blow what country u wish i dont care ( I wonder how are u going to achieve this, but u know for yourself) poor me to live in the FAKIN UK where people are really mean, cold and stupid ( i mean teens) too bad I have realtives there poor people ooh poor me but moreover poor u to speak only bad words - prick - go suck a pipe :D

  • I want one, but I am an EXTREMELY wet blower on my highland pipes, so I am wondering if they are more susceptible to moisture than highland pipes, and I wonder if they come with standardized chanters so I can play with anyone anywhere who has one?

  • awesome music! i want to go to bulgaria!

  • Great, beautiful melody!

  • J'en ai une de Petko Stefanov, c'est une merveille !

Le son très particulier mais si beau !

  • Steven i will make a small correction this is Bulgarian gaida :) and it's Rojen (Rodopha Mountain) south Bulgaria

  • It's OK, you are excused for your ignorance... You can keep claiming things like the "macedonian" spirit. :) It's not only Macedonia on the Balkans ... you should go out there and read more about the ethnographic regions and pockets all over the Balkans. This piece is not Macedonian but comes from the Rhodope mountain, which is about 60-100 km to the east from Macedonia (roughly...).

There are bagpipes all over the Balkans, and also in the Carpathians.

  • First of all let us all remind our common ancestors on the balkans;) THE THRACYANS.So like we sharing the same blood we speak diferent languages. The problem with gaja is simillar. So we must just claiming this instrument a invention of entire balkanic region;)

Nice clip !I'm from Romania so we also use the bagpipe here :)

  • Abe Steven....

Ti chuval li si za Rodopi? Gaidata v Makedonia li ia ima samo??? Ia pohodi malko po Balkanite.... izvun tvoita liubima Makedonia (centura an sveta).

    Otidi i na sever u Vlashko i v Translivania i pri Ungarcite... i sled tova govori! :)

Leleee...Makedonski instrument?! Gaida ima v Makedonia, sure!, no zvuchi po drugo (pak sladko), no v Rhodopite si imat svoi osoben i unikalen zvuk, kakto i v Makedonskata gaida zvukut e unikalen sam po sebe si.

The more Macedonia is discussed, the bigger it becomes.

Let everybody feel as they wish. But let's not overdo things.

Why Macedonians ain't recognized as Nation? Why?

I've got the answer: There is not such thing like "Macedonian" Language.

  • Do you know anything about the different types of Gajdas?

Obviously not... judging by your profile, your comment was political more than anything.
