While it isn't my favorite animated film, this was the movie that seemed to be the battle cry that the new regime was moving forward at Disney (Bob Iger, John Lasseter, Ed Catmull), and that they were going to try and steer Disney back to prominence.

It was like 'The Great Mouse Detective' back in the mid-80's: there's some great emotional moments even if the story was not solid, but it was a stepping stone forward.

Maybe it's because this movie was rendered by graphic artists whose professions it is to depict appealing visuals but there is something here, I've always tried to explain... one cannot JUST dream of creating great marvels of technology, they must look towards it with an artist's eye to really make a difference! Lewis' works, were not only brilliant, but beautiful!! Disney was like that, so is Steve Jobs, I try to make all my inventions, in the same light.
