Movies used, off the top of my head, Top Gun (F-14s), Sum of All Fears (Carrier and CIWS scene), Fighter Pilot Operation Red Flag (F-15 and maybe the 16's?), Sky Fighters (the clips with the Mirages).

I think an Ace Combat movie would be epic. It would show how chaotic dogfighting can be. It maybe a good idea though to keep it an animated movie. I think it would be better that way. A live action would be too expensive and there would be a lot of red tape as well as some problems getting some of the planes (Russian aircraft cockpits don't come with gauges in English and I don't think we could get any country to allow an American and a Russian aircraft to even mock dogfight)
@kidf22 Well, the modern Luftwaffe is known for flying both American F-15C Eagles and Soviet-era MiG-29A Fulcrums ... whether they would actually lend functional military aircraft to a movie project about a video game is another question entirely, but the possibility is there. It's not like the US and the USSR are on the brink of nuclear war with each other anymore, and mock dogfights between Russian, American, and European planes are common as a means of testing aircraft and pilot performance,
@tranced89 ah i knew the Luftwaffe flew Fulcrums but I didn't realize the flew Eagles as well. I knew that Americans and Russians mock dogfight now but there's still some tension from the Cold War. At the time of the previous posting, I hadn't learned that there are now privately owned and flying MIG-29s and SU-27s in the US. thanks for the info! sorry for the late reply

the f22 hasnt seen any air to air victories and its rare if the engagement is even seen thanks to BVR combat (beyond visual range) and even more rare that the plane has a camera on it
