Lol "they look like freakin' manikins", dude your voice is hilarious bro. This appears to be a gimped version of the last 2 major DOA releases on Xbox/360. DOAU and 4, I think Tecmo's goal was to outclass the Xbox version, I can see they failed miserably.

The more smooth a surface is, then the more effort has gone into it in order for it to look that way. I think Team Ninja were trying to implement more cinimatics rather than still cutscenes. The still cutscenes are most likely going to be followed by a cinimatic in order to balance out the quality of the game If they were all still then would you be happy with it? The still cutscenes are mere shows of storyline and plot details. Graphics are the main selling point on this.

I guess they wanted to save space and make it look simple at the same time. Although for a handheld video game the visuals within Dimensions look excellent. And with the additional content there are plenty of things to do.

@AWonderingWarrior Yes, it's still a beautiful game. My real complaint though about the cutscenes is the jagged lines on things. The cutscenes were ported and they don't really look good in some areas. Look at the laptop in doatek and more and you'll see a TON of jagged lines. The gameplay though and graphics are gorgeous though and the best looking on the system so far

It was not like they had much equipment to work with. The Nintendo 3DS is a handheld console and for a game such as this to pack in quite a lot of features and visuals. They had to cut some corners in a few places.
