To the Battle of Wounded Knee, the Holocaust, Slavery for the African Americans. In some way we all went through a form of struggle. But, Native American's are indigenous to this land called America. We form our own government because of what our ancestors had to be put through. We lived off the land as everyone else did. But, some got greedy and wanted to take over.
@Bonnice53 i disagree with your comment..... but if you mean the settlers were savages then i would agree. and also the settlers had guns and the indians didnt and thats how things work who ever has the bigger stick gets what they want. the human race has yet to act fairly and probably never will thats how the whole world works.
This has brought tears to my eyes in remembrance of our ancestors and they would be proud of all who have gathered together to continue the need to press the case for all treaties to be honored by the government. But now we face a threat of a far greater annihilation of 92% of all peoples who do not exist to exploit the planet; our only mother and home.
we are still fighting for our rights and our lands.
in canada the government does not want to settle land claims with the Haudenosaunee Iroquois Confederacy wish leads to more and more protests its seems.
and if the indian wars ended in 1918 what was Oka in 1990 where a group of Mohawks took on the canadian military and an armed confrontation.
Thank you, thankyou to all in the video and to the maker of it! We need all of the american people to fall in love with our native americans for who they are! We need to find a way to dispell the myths that are still so prevalent. They need to be made aware of our native's honor as a people and the prestige of women in their society. Until the American people care, nothing will change. How do we get them to care? We need P.R. that goes beyond Pow Wows!
i joined the army a lil while ago. part of my paycheck goes to the N.A.R.F year month, i voted for President Obama cause he told the ppl that the soldiers are to be out of iraq by 2010, but the other day during my commmander brief, i found out that im being deployed in 14 months for a 12 month tour of duty in afganistan, so in a way we still are going to war. weather it be on the front line or in office. our ppl are still fighting to this very day.
@letstalkaboutstuff uy would u Native Americans wanna go and fight for the US States, u would have to brainwashed by this evil decrepit culture and society, as Malcom X would say u have been robbed of a knowledgeof self, do u think your ancesters would want u to fight the White mans wars for oil and opium, y do u think the US in Afghanistan, shameful
@tfrenn - The European concept of war, conquest and domination was largely foreign to the Americas. The Indians were rather innocent and naive, thinking all warriors were honorable and valiant. After 500 years, it would be reasonable to think they would know better than to trust. Some became wise. Too many assimilated the European culture of master/slave relationships, ceasing to be men and becoming minions. Machines, killing machines, programmed like a computer to follow orders of elites.
well I'm glad someone has a similiar viewpoint, I have studied alot about American Indian culture and really respect the spirituality they used to have and wish they could get it back. but I have no hope in the world today and seems as if someday here in America will all have to go through what the Indians went through long ago, actually it wasn't that long ago people tend to forget how past events effect how life and society opperates today
@918Native why would fight for the US army when the government has trashed your people, brainwashed them, mass murdered them, broken every treaty they ever signed with Indians, Obama is subsidized by the white man and is being used to control minority populations, thats why he lied about Iraq and is ramping troop increases in the middle east. do u really know what you are fighting for
It is the Stockholm Syndrome - they are fighting for Bush's and Obama's freedom - the freedom of the elites to do whatever they want, to whoever they want, whenever, however and wherever they want. It is NOT about freedom for the common people. Were that so, all the USA would have to do is return a little arable land to the Indians and recognize their inalienable human right to self-determination and self-governance by consent. The same things being denied to all by the USA.
@918Native Am angry, Senator Prescott Bush is said to have stolen Geronimo's skull and bones for the cult museum at Yale. Keep your faith, you are not alone.
firstly you arent indians you are chirique be proud of it. secondly indian (the real ones)are from a far more advanced or may be even the most advanced oldest civilization . not stating the fact that ,you guys were advanced too but the reason they called you indians is cause they were lookin for a new spice route to india in asia.
Hi Deb, I visited your Youtube site, what you wrote was as if you had read my mind. All I can say is AMEN SISTER - we're not crazy, what a relief. THANK YOU!
America is the most hypocritical nation under the sun. They scream like banshees about 'ethnic cleansing' they love to point the finger. There isn't a nation on earth they haven't either attacked or considered attacking (they even had contingency plans to attack the UK). American politicians and military and business men are nothing but pirates, hypocrites and criminals. The use of euphemism and double speak has been taken to Orwellian heights by America. A truly vindictive nation.
USA is NOT 'America'. The USA is just an extension, now the heart, of the British Empire. Who are Asians?
Who are Africans?
Who are Europeans?
Who are Americans?
The term Americans is a regional/continental name that logically applies to all the Indigenous Peoples of the Americas. It has been misappropriated by the immigrant European invaders and their anchor babies. Identity theft! By naming the land, then taking the name of the land, they create a fantasy that they belong here and they own it.

Thank you John - I couldn't agree with you more. It's not rocket science, take care of yourself and stay on the Red Road. Keep the kids on the Red Road too. We have not just tribal history, but all our ancestors. We are working on the language - learned a lot from Unci and Tunkasila, but filling in the gaps and learning from the tiosapiya. Last but not least, keep our traditions, our ceremonies, our stories - attend Pow-wows, keep in touch with the families on and off the Rez.
Had to watch this again after some time ago. Really LOVE it. Thankyou so much for producing!
