Hey dude how do you fix the pan/crop probelm in Vegas 9 where when you change it to 16:9 widescreen option bits of your video gets cut out. I don't want the annoying big black bars on the side of my video so i have to change the display to wide screen i've managed to do it before but recently its giving me this weird problem!

sorry i know this is five months old but the reason is because you have windows media player version 11 while he has version 9 if you install version 9 then you will have that and not 11 show up but 11 should show up HD as it is the upgrade version of 9 it should be better not worse.

it means, that your original video was more then 8gb lol and when u converted with hd option it's got more then 10gb, i am sure u used fraps lol it always captures with high quality and size is also big lol for this you should use any software which dicreases your video size, google it, i am sure you will find the way ^^

No I used Camtasia, you can create a stream file which is only like 10mb, which can be used to edit without having to export the actual screen capture video.

parlai, first right click the video on your timeline and look at it's properties, specifically framerate, size, and field order. Then go to "File" > "Properties" and set your project to be the same settings as your source video for the best results and no black bars or stretching!

I watched tutorial videos before this and most of them "fired" up Sony Vegas, then immediately went to file - properties and changed the template to - HDV 720-30p (1280x720, 29.970 fps)

I am curious why you didn't mention this in your tutorial.

Unfortunately you cannot record Hi Definition game footage unless you record in 1280x720 or 1280x1024, which takes up a shit load of CPU.

No, If you want best quality higher the file but the normal for good quality is divx lowers it a little but keeps 30% of quality uncompressed (doesnt work good on sv) is great it has about 80% more quality than a normal and 50% more quality than wide screen.
