An offshore Atlantic array would produce enough for a million homes too! How about TWO or THREE or THIRTY offshore arrays? Its a big ocean/planet! (out of shipping lanes of course)
Waves & tidal lagoons could drive turbines too! This IS an island!
How about grants for solar water heaters on every roof at the very least!? The amount of energy used to heat water for washing &/or heating in homes is astronomical!
How about local district power grids to minimise wastage in power transportation?
