@gennusa -Lets remember that the majority of slaves that were sold at the start were captives or P.O.W. People were capturing across ethnic groups, not within thier own groups. Much like a Greek would sell a Roman captive. Also, buying and transporting of slaves was not done by Africans in a void - Europeans were the buyers -- so they have equal participation. Secondly, a lot of slaves were kidnapped, abducted, and sold, so this illegal activity cannot be considered 'trade'.

The myth that black africans kidnapped.. sold thier own people is just that, a myth that has been dubunked by scholars, whilst still popular due to misinformation, its illogical... what is a king or chief with out his people? Why would they sell thousands of thier own subjects..doesnt make much sense does it?

I haven't watched the whole video yet but I will. I'm impressed/inspired that he thought to do this...holding a summit or town hall meeting with future leaders- not from this country but those who represent the majority of what the world looks like. As Pres Obama continues to talk of hope and change - it can't be just in these United States- it has to be around the world-Too often adults are too set in their ways- I'm glad he has the "heirs" our future years to motivate.
