  • I live in Birmingham and i followed that tornado all the way to West Jefferson... It was, without doubt, an F-5...

  • this guy did an amzing job during this dangerous storm. congrats man.

  • get out of their news guy

  • At that time , I was working for Publix Supermarkets , and Publix put together a group of volunteers that went to AL after this massive tornado outbreak to help the stores that were running on generators . Although we only went to the Huntsville/ Owens Crossroads area , I can only imagine what the rest of AL went through cause the destruction we saw it honestly felt like we were driving through a movie set. I was SOO HONORED to have helped those I could , and would gladly do it again.

  • it was an E-F4 i live in pleasant groveand we got hit by that tornado

  • Gotta Be F5 ????

  • I live in GA, and I remember this day and how fascinating this tornado was. Something so deadly. This weatherman...he needs an award or something. He cared to make sure his viewers were to be safe. Many weathermen aren't like this. "We're gonna get you through it." I want to shake his hand.

  • I live in alabama guys

  • I don't really see why some people are being crappy about this weatherman being upset. He KNEW people were DYING in that thing. I think he did great, and he also showed he CARED about what was going on. For all we know, he may have had family in the area being hit and was worried sick about friends and/or family.

  • @amberpunk200 I feel the same pain. I live in Cordova and I know it wasn't as bad as t-town but I feel your pain. My prayers go out to you!

  • i lost everything.... my friend... my house

  • The things you need to sucsessfully chase a tornado, 1. a truck/car covered with armor or bullet proof glass, 2. a truck/car with a high performance engine with quick acceleration and NOS, 3. about two or three gasoline chain saws in case you run into heavy debree on the road, 4. dependable dopplar radar and navagation, 5. guts, brain and nerves of steel

  • That'd be scary as fuck

  • he did a great job trying to continue to do his job.

  • most redundant weatherman ever

  • R.I.P

  • @LovinCraziness Preach!!

  • I wasn't in Tuscaloosa that day,we live in Anniston, but I think the whole state was terrified.

  • @proud2bpagan I lived in Anniston at the time as well; & I remember my father never get's scared about these type of things. But when he saw this tornado & the the Birmingham one we were scared out of our minds.. I will never forget this day as long as I live.

  • @lizzylovelikecrazie I still get nervous when they annouce the possiblity of severe weather. In the coming year,we'll be moving out to my parent's current home, and they'll be moving right down the road...tg it has a basement,as we currently live in a trailer.I hope you and yours all made it through safely, and continue into the new year with good health and prosperity.

  • Mark Prater,James Spann,Mickey Fergason and all the others deserve alot of credit for keeping cool heads and helping ppl know it was coming their way.You guys are lifesavers!

  • @proud2bpagan I hope each person that was involved in the wall-to-wall coverage on each station wins an Emmy. They all earned it.

  • Time to fly my new kite lol

  • 3:00 when they say that, start praying

  • This guy is brave, just basically ignoring the chick when she tells him to get to safety. This guy is putting his life on the line for the people of Tuscaloosa.

  • That day frightened me. I live near Atlanta and I was watching James Spann online and saw all of the insane tornado footage. Besides areas around Ringgold,Trenton,Rome,Cartersville,LaGrange, and Barnesville, Georgia was very lucky compared to what happened in AL. The nightmare scenario that scares me as much as what happened that day is if an outbreak nearly as bad hit the Atlanta area. Most houses around here don't have basements, and most counties don't have sirens.

  • I agree he did an awesome job! The woman in the background was bound and determined to put her 2cents worth in for whatever reason though.

  • Reminds me so much of James Spann (ABC 33/40) when they covered the 2000 F4 in Tuscaloosa, just days from Christmas...

  • I live in madison i heard a tornado up there at school my teacher was like freakin out it was really scary

My brother lives in Harvest and he took cover in Nuckleheads a bar HAHA but alot of my family lives down there I am so happy they all survived and they dont even have sirens in Blount Springs

  • I dont think a camera guy did this they have a tower cam the camera guy he was talking about was just controlling the camera from the studio. Competing with abmost 150 mph winds they wouldnt put people out like that

  • That cameraman who was filming the tornado has balls

  • I hope that the people who used this video as an excuse to start rants, make jokes and call people names are taken out of the Gene Pool.

  • that is bad wow

  • i saw the tornado forming from my cousins house

  • @vanennatalia your cousin must be one powerful asshole

  • Comment removed

  • @vanennatalia hope u guys were ok i seen most of the vids that are around on youtube im glad we don't get em in australia

  • News Guy: My god this tornado is huge, yeah it's getting bigger. It could be deadly if it crashed into you.

    *Tornado Breaks Through News Station*

    News Guy: .....

  • @Irelyboy not funny

  • @MissMusicLoverrr and besides I'm pretty much just pointing out that I liked how he described every single bit of that huge ass tornado

  • @Irelyboy That guy's name is Mark Prater,he's one of our local weather ppl. He's an amazing meterologist.

  • @proud2bpagan yeah I'm actually not trying to be rude, I just appreciate his little comments here and there.

  • You know, when I was lying out in my neighbors driveway, 3 doors down, under a giant chunk of concrete, after having been sucked out of my house, I thought to myself ..................... " I'm so glad Mark Prater is gonna get me through this " . Now if you could only help me locate my severed right foot THEN you would have truly GOTTEN ME THROUGH THIS.

  • @TheVIDPIG fuck off, you bitter cunt. if you really did lose a foot, get off the fuckin internet and live life balls out to the fullest.

  • cool tornado

  • "Were gonna get you through this" Wow he really saved the day, the only one in danger was the camera man thats why he said "stay with that shot" easy to say when your miles away from it, he dosen't even care about their own camera crew. Poor guy probably got hit in the face with debris. Too bad the brain washing media only cares about ratings.

  • @OldMusicSoul you don't know what you are talking about, he saved many lives as did @jspann. he did everything he could

  • thank you for telling people that we r gonna get through this and everything all be ok thank u u need a raise unlike some people who say its they end of the world

  • 2:30 MICROSOFT SAM!

  • in five little did we know we would loose so many friends and family its horrible i could hear but was not affected even though this was 3 months ago KEEP PRAYIN PLEASEE

  • Just horrific.

  • I was in tuscaloosa when this hit. it freaking destroyed an entire area nearby while leaving our little area nearly untouched.

  • im from birmingham i was at pratt city rite b4 it hit

  • this guy was fantastic. kudos to you sir, keep up the good work!

  • This guy is awesome, he did a great job!

  • "My God, look at that. That thing is huge!"

    That's what she said...

    (Trollface)

  • The first floor, interior room is NOT a 'safe place' in anything stronger than an EF-3. Amazing these people don't have a basement. 'Oh, but the water leaks in!' Get a SUMP PUMP!

  • @tpxbaseball3 i give a thumbs down do to the fact most weather people would tell you get to safety and to shelter place not stay with us we going to get you through this. it would have been time to tell the truth get in your shelter or safety place or you could die.. that is what he should have told them the truth.... but other than that he handled i guess

  • @MatthewRankin2009 boo to that crap

  • @MatthewRankin2009 what i think he ment he was saying take cover and stuff but what i think he ment turn up the volume all the way so can hear from where taking shelter to keep ya warned and stuff.

  • OMG I HOPE THEY ARE OKAY!

  • @christianbanaski im from tuscaloosa and i will say that this tornado really brought this city together..its going to take alot of time to get us back to where we need to be (if ever again_) i have friends who lost everything but they have their lives....just keep tuscaloosa, joplin and every other city that was affected in 2011 tornadoes in your thoughts and prayers..and yes we are OK

  • "we're gonna get you through this" ... buuullshiiit. man, if a tornado is coming right at you, then aint no tv maggot gonna help you, ya hurr? thumbs up if you like sucking dicks

  • chuck norris snizzed once

  • @eleszar1 and im tired of people with their "chuck norris" bullshit. where the hell do people get this idea from?

"chuck norris can stick his dick in my mouth and ass... at the same time"

"chuck norris got a man pregnant once"

"the earthquake and tsunami in japan was actually caused by chuck norris pounding my ass like a drum"

for fuck's sake, people! thumbs up if you like riding chuck norris' cock

  • @emdee93 Chuck norris made you mad he is proud

  • @hotjock008 the big bang created the universe fuck head, go pray you fucking loser..god is a myth, the only reason you stay true to your believe is you were brain washed as a child, unfortunately most children are sucked into the bull shit myth.. fucking cock sucker

  • @hellboy006660 I have found God and Science to coexist. I have read the bible, and interpreted it to it being not literal, but philosophical. Since it says there is no time in heaven, seven days could be literally millions of years. If you look closely, it happens in the same order, universe created BANG!, First came aquatic animals, then they gradually evolved. I respect your lack of belief, but please do not insult mine.

  • He nailed it on air! Yes, an F-5.

    Good work.

  • holy is the Lord. may God be with them forever amen.

  • @laylajoanyachirufan go have your rapture and get out of here

  • @bradlygilbert Why r u mad child? for God is with us. and why do u fight with God when God is the most powerful. dont fear my child it will be alright......

  • @laylajoanyachirufan god is with us ?? are you retarded?? god?? where is god threw poverty? were is god through destruction? were is god threw murder and crime? no where! your brainwashed you grew up with the myth off the bible and have chosen a false belief since birth.. it needs to be said.. its all a crock .wow i feel soory for you my child.. your fucked

  • cool

  • how did you record this? if you recorded this with a tv, please tell me how

  • makes you wonder why they build all their houses out of wood

  • @TheCcrack Wood is an excellent insulator.

  • @TheCcrack It doesnt matter if it was built out of wood, bricks, or concrete blocks, it just doesnt make a difference with a tornado this strong.

  • I was at the DCH hospital when it came threw on this video filming it I was so close if u watch mine then watch this it is so crazy , if u read this and see my video then let me know ur thoughts ?? ThAnks for all help from everyone that has helped and god bless Tuscaloosa ...

  • I got a video of tornado when it hit Tuscaloosa ,I was at the Tuscaloosa DCH hospital ,I was on bottom level of visitor parking-deck holding a pipe that was attached to wall so wild ...(((was videoed by Tommy Clark : from Tuscaloosa Al DCH hospital )))))

  • Owned.

  • @tpxbaseball3 pity vote. stupid cunt

  • ok who took chuck norris tornado wand????

  • @jacerocks1001 oklahoma.

  • gelncole,al had a ef4 tornado

  • He did a fantastic job. Anybody wanna try what he did live and on the spot? Yeah, didn't think so. The guy is a five star reporter in my book.

  • @physicsnerd63 he did well i must admit. kept it calm. but you could hear the concern in his voice. multitasking keeping calm and informing people all at the same time. a violent day in alabama, ga, tn and ark. history. and ms as well. a day i wont soon forget.

  • Theirs Debris large Debris! Ummm DUHHHHH!!!

  • instead off ohhh & aweeInnn why just tell people to take cover.. My gosh! Ohh Woow! get to the damn point!

  • 35 ppl didnt get through this...

  • @99pitbulls ur a fucking dick i hope a tornado hits ur house and u die

  • Why is he shaking? Come on people, why ask such non-intelligent questions..A lot of people were hurt and even killed. Those people that were hurt and killed had family that cared about them. If you were any kind of decent person you would have respect and sympathy for the people of this town.

  • I large deadly tornado...we are gonna get you thru it..its huge, its violent..but we'll get you thru it..the tornado is now receding...but will get you thru it..

  • yea that's right everybody just relax, and he's gonna help you get through this but watching him talk about how big it is

  • I think the weatherman did GREAT! You can TELL he is VERY aware that there are people DYING in that thing; he knows the destruction that is happening. He may well have had friends and/or family living in it's path and been terrified for them as well. He was emotional because he cared. He did a good job of warning people.

  • The camerman sucks.... he is no profession whats the reason for all that shaking? The tornado is miles away!

  • @MrTr0llol probably because he is scared, worried about loved ones that might be down there, or maybe because its not miles away and its WINDY

  • @MrTr0llol Yea dude. Alabama doesn't see anything like this usually, so to have a gigantic EF4 tornado rolling through the town you live and work in, you know I might just be a little shaky too. think about it.

  • @firestarsfan actually Alabama has more violent tornadoes than anywhere else in the world. Agreed that no one would be calm regardless of where you live though.

  • what kind of numb nuts person gets hit with a tornady?

  • Thumbs up to you Mark . You did a great job and you saved lives with the continous coverage. God Bless You

  • @eddyebonner and constantly saying

"this tornado is massive folks and very violent"

  • Thumbs up to you Mark . You did a great job and you saved lives with the continous coverage. God Bless You

  • @FlightSimx97 Amen!!!!

  • wish it was bigger

  • @ymistillavirgin , you are a dumbass, and heartless, you idiot.

  • Tornado - is because America full dirty and bad people..... Corruption, porn, gays, all around money, money power over people, terrorism, and other bad things..... So God angry on people... because people must be shy and must live shy.....

Many cars- is dirty air, dirty water.... So Nature angry on people.. So Tornado....

Soon all World will be So..... because monkey convert human,,, but now human convert again monkey........

  • @TheMimimilalala I agree with you except for the part about gay's, there is nothing wrong with that, maybe personally but people (like you, me and, 99% of youtube trolls.) but i believe you, God was angry at someone or something. and i too think scientist are idiots with the whole evolution humans being related to monkeys.....oh yeah! and dogs are related to cactus'!

  • @GrafiteCityLux Are you kidding me, have you ever taken a Biology class? This is why people don't feel bad when they watch videos like this, because there are dumb asses like you that don't care to think about what they are saying before they say it, making people think maybe innocent people do deserve things like this, when they don't.

  • @GrafiteCityLux so theres nothing wrong with gays but theres also nothing wrong with god being angry at someone or something and taking it out on innocent people? and who said humans are related to monkeys? idiot. learn things you close minded fool.

  • @TheMimimilalala I agree with everything you said except monkeys.

  • @TheMimimilalala all i have to say to that is, damn. You truly need to seek some help...

  • is in Tuscaloosa guy killed politican people and children??????

  • One of the things about tornadoes is that size has NOTHING to do with intensity. Just look at the 2007 Elie, Manitoba tornado in comparison to the 1979 Seymour, Texas tornado.

  • To all the rude comments made on here: I don't see you reporting on the news as a weatherman. Mark Prater may have sounded afraid yes, because he was afraid for the people who live in the areas that were being hit and were going to be hit. Have some compasssion. You'd better hope that you've got a weatherman like Mark Prater wherever you live to give you warning. And making fun of a town's name doesn't make you sound any smarter than you already arent.

  • Lastly that woman needs to shut up. She is taking away from the report from the meteorologist. that people are trying to hear.

  • I think the meteorologist is more afraid of this than the people are!

  • FOLKS THIS IS A VIOLENT TORNADO!

    No shit?

  • @JamesRideout123 I do not know of a tornado that is NOT violent. I hate dealing with stupid people.

  • @SteveWard3928 For meteorologists, a "violent tornado" means a tornado of EF4 or EF5 intensity. Lesser tornadoes are not considered "violent" in meteorological terminology, although obviously in ordinary language lesser tornadoes could also be described that way.

  • Watch this while listening to breathe by pink floyd in a different tab

  • i don't get it. do these storms like, hurt people. Where I live I never see one of these tsunamis. And what kind of numb nuts name is hackleburg?

  • @thghs801 don't play like you are stupid. "Do these storms hurt people?" No it produces a 20 mph breeze with plenty of sunshine. A Tsunami is a strong WAVE from the ocean and has nothing to do with a tornado!!! Where did you go to school again?????

  • @SteveWard3928 uc santa cruz, bro. go nana slugs. its prolly way better than hakleberg high or whatever. laters numb nuts.

  • @SteveWard3928 the school of hard kocks

  • Instead of wasting your time praying use that time to be productive by I don't know going out there and doing something to help' Thankfully science unlike religion can help them in their time of need.

  • @NewWorldOrderRED Really? So how many non-profit "science" groups are out collecting materials for people? How man scientific non-profits are raising money? Lemme see here. Looks to be exactly....none. I can understand a certain level of disdain for religion. Hypocrisy over adultery vs homosexuality for example. But over tragedies, you're off the mark. Not all Christians are as you see them. An ignorant point of view from someone touting "Science" to be honest.

  • @kryvar There are many non profit science groups out there helping right now and there are many that are raising money in donations, I would know as I am a part of many of them. Also many of the top groups that raise money for relief that are seen as Christian actually have many atheists. Christian relief groups are already popular so atheists tend to go to those as a default. You should do some more accurate research.
