  • The Piper is PM Iain Louther 1SG.

RIP all our fallen comrades on this 11th month of the 11th year.

  • FROM THE ICY GLEN THEY MARCHED TO BATTLE AS FREE MEN.

  • Do someone knows the song at 1:51 ?

  • @GalazanCat "were no awa' tae bide awa'"

  • @Thompsonf1001 thanks!

  • I am not the only one to knock his style, why can he not say it before the music starts, why did he have to talk all over it. Listen to it, he never shuts up he talks over nearly all the music.

  • I was Royal Signals attached to Scots Guards and took part in the attack on Tumbledown. The tune brings a tear to my eye as I think of the events that took place and the guys that never came back, or came back wounded in body and mind. But one of my memories is the Pipe Major composing the music, using cardboard from ration packs to record the music. Sadly he died a number of years ago but left us with awesome music.

  • I LOVE IT THANK YOU.

  • 'Brave Heart' Lone Piper.......I bow.....

  • sends shivers down your spine, especially if you're scottish!! Makes me so proud to be one! :D

  • does anyone know the tune playing at 1:54?

  • its called "we're no awa tae bide awa."

  • Fair play to the lone piper...lovely playing

    5*****

  • My pipe band is playing this tune at the Fulda Military Tattoo in November. It is a very nice tune.

  • BIM5

  • big respect to the lone piper standing there playing an amazing tune by himself cos if he screws up he doesnt have other sound to hide behind.. Big salute to him

  • aw we're no awa tae bide away oh we're no awa tae bide away and i'll come back to see yi

  • the crags of tumbledown is a beutiful song cant wait till i learn it on the pipes

  • It is called "the Black Bear" traditional march for the scots guards returning to barracks. Great march tune in my opinion.

  • does anyone know the tune playing at 2:35?

  • @t0ryb00y The Black Bear, then Scotland the Brave almost immediately.

  • BEATIFUL!!!!thats all iv got to say about that !as far as he paki who likes goats, just to help you out , "dis is not da goat fuki fuki web site ,keep on lookin, and happy g hide fkr!!

notice i cant spell g had?

  • Hello Raghead, go and wipe your arse with your fingers ya manky bastard.

    Alba Gu Brath !!

  • Why do people like you watch this and then make those sorts of comments. If you don't mind the dead goat then stick it up your hairy arse, then go fuck a pig.

  • I know I`m a bit late ... but, 92257240, it`s called `Scotland The Brave`. Come to see a Scotland rugby game with me ... then you`ll know what `Scotland` are being `Brave` about!!! Hehehehe.

  • the lone piper make me eyes well up every time,

i really got to get my kids to Scottland and show them where we come from, i'll have to put it on my to do before i die list.

    Scott by birth,

    Britt by law,

Highlander by the grace of God.

  • well said.

  • Thank you for posting this wonderful clip. It makes me so homesick that I cannot watch all the way through with a dry eye. When I lived in Edinburgh, we would sometimes accept free tattoo tickets from performers billeted at Dreghorn barracks - it was no big deal - sometimes we would go, most times we didn't. I wish I could be there now!

  • May I know the tune which starts at 1:16, after "The Crags of Tumbledown"?

    Thanks for the marv clip!

  • From 1:16-1:54, that's "Scotland the Brave".

  • @wisetrucker - that ''idiot'' you refer to is the late, great Tom Fleming (who died this year).

He has commentated on EVERY tattoo since 1966 (that will be 42 years), and in my opinion he made the tattoo. How many people watching this clip would have known the significance of the 2007 lone piper's tune without his commentary ?

  • I love scotland, someday scotland I will be there for you!

  • i went their this year it was the single most amazing thing i've seen yet right when the lone piper started a stupid person starts CALLING SOME ONE and for the whole lone piper i herd "HELLO ... HELLO ... CAN YOU HEAR ME" ruined the hole thing for me

  • Thanks so much for this video. I can download `The Black Bear` .. but, it`s always got a brass section playing!!! At last, I can have, just, `my boys` playing their pipes n drums!!! I watch this at least once a day. Thank you so much.

  • I really have to buy this DVD.

  • Whats the titel of the song starting at 2:37?

  • The tune is called "The Black Bear"

  • It is easier to say than to play....took me ages to play it like that :) was worth all the effort in the end though.

  • Long live Scottland and all of her people.

  • That brought a tear to my eye - makes you proud to be a Scot :o)

  • @sinclairzoe

you wrote exactly what i was about to write !

  • Makes me feel good

    to be a celt !

  • Exellent!!! I adore the sound of the pipes!!!

  • Thanks for posting this, I had not seen the DVD from 2007 yet. "Crags of Tumbledown" has a special place in my heart both to play and hear, because of a dear friend that was on Tumbledown during the assault and lost his best friend. To hear it played slow like a lament brought tears to my eyes as it did P/M Lauder. One of the finest contemporary marches written for the pipes! I thank you P/M James Riddell for such a wonderful tune, may it always inspire the memory of what was done that night!

  • I had the plaesure of playing in the Tattoo in 2007. I too lost friend on Tumbledown Mountain. Tears were in my eyes as well, PM Lauder played this piece straight from his heart. Will never forget it.

  • I am so envious! As a less than average piper and a "Yank" at that, I can only wish. On another personal note, for those of us that got tears in our eyes listening to this version of "Crags of Tumbledown" know why. Not love of country or heritage, but for the sacrifice and the determination of the Scots Guards, the Royal Engineers and other forces involved in that assult. There was alot of regimental pride and honor in those tears in P/M Lauder's eyes. Our tears honor their sacrifice!

  • Wow, never realised there was a reason for it only being 4 days long. Pretty interesting that.

  • The lone piper at the start is one of the most moving images I have seen. The sheer power of that image is unforgettable.

    Truely amazing.

  • can any one tell me what th epiece of music is called that starts at 1:55 plz

  • It's No Awa' Tae Bid' Awa'!

Thank you Rupert, we'll aye come back an' see ye

  • The bagpiper has tears in his eyes when he finishes playing. Bless!

  • Yea sure he did

    it must be a honour

    To play at EdinBurgh festival!
