  • RUGBY IS THE WORST SPORT EVER!!!!

    FOOTBALL! MANUTD!!!

  • Is the soundtrack to this video what they were listening to in the wheelhouse as they crossed the bar?

    :-)

  • Its hard to think that these fisherman, risking their lives, get paid way less than some guy behind a desk...

  • is that first boat the hinewai ??? im frm grey and was wondering

  • Yeah big balls.. also wreckless. Endangerment of crew, placing them in mortal danger. Take the boat and fine.

  • @kinetiknz no not wreckless mate, the crew choose to be on that boat, and there working hard at what they do for a living, well done boys

  • Nerves of steel......... nerves of steel!!!

  • With all the respect to those fishermen who do this!!!! A edge of life or dead!

  • incredible.....I feel like such a poof now

  • FARK! Would be needing to change my shit stained undies at 0:23

  • it never looks that bad, until you are in the thick of it,ive got a 33footer only had it a few weeks and have to cross the st helens barway in tasmania, gets pretty hairy at times, great for a laugh once ive changed my undies haha well done mate

  • Why is he not going forward to keep ahead of the swells? and yes i know about in a following sea

  • mate thats intense. i have many times gone against the waves but never come with them in conditions like that. im sure that would have been 10 times scaryer then me going against sharp 40 ft waves

  • this does not only require balls but a fair amount of skill.hats off to you captain.

  • WHY? I don't see any docks and the river looks like it turns into inner tubing depth only pretty quickly! Where did this boat land after getting into the river?

  • @RVAepiphanyseeker It's much more than inner tube depth. Greymouth once was a major port.

  • Lunacy,.. but i like it.

  • Ordinary day in the life of a Kiwi.

  • holy shit!! this is really scary.. I have been in a similar situation.. The ocean just does with you what it wants!! thx for posting!

  • You Kiwi fishos are crazy. We've work all east & west coast of Oz & never seen swell like that...need a deckie?

  • yea gudsht jacebeer

  • iv had some pretty hairy bar crossings as a kid in matarangi on the coromandel... once we cut the corner coming round and the motor hit the ground.... was dodgy as dad managed to get the motor restarted but not before a massive wave crashed over the back and shit got fucked up lol we had the whole extended family on board, everyone got soaked and the cabin was a mess.. haha it was a 22ft rayglass

  • beautifully done!

  • all to pay the bills

  • Sod that!

  • fuck that balls of steel

  • Rules: Not to heavy load. Load close to keel. Load separated by barriers. Stay home when the weather is bad.

  • a good sea ship

  • wow, good to see he made it

  • Hes not u partner lmao

  • Well done to the skipper

  • haha , imean DONT have the hull speed , the skipper done well

  • yeah the skipper done great, the boat nearly flips over at :23

  • @orgasmoman69 This is a self righting displacement boat. It cant flip. Boat gravity center is lower than boat buoyancy center.

  • you stupid prick , a keel boat have the hull speed to race waves

  • maybe if the skipper was going fast enough and just stuck with a wave and followed it in, he would be allright, ya cant let a wave come up behind ya.....so soso sooooo stupid

  • maybe if the boat had wings he could fly into the harbor, yar.

  • u have giant kiwis my friend

  • You wouldn't want to do that in the dark.

  • nice vid mate, what is the song name...it's a lot in this kind a videos.

and on what do you fish with this boat?

  • im a crabber outta newport ive crossed every bar from eureka to westport in shitty weather can get pretty scary lost quite a few friends from bar crossings most memerable was the blue heather rip billie t and abe u are still missed

  • tillamook is gnarly,so is this bar. ugly water and situations need respect!

  • Nice set of balls you got there mate. Good job.

  • Too slow to outrun the series. I've been in that situation on the Tillamook Bay Bar out Tillamook Oregon. In a 38ft charter boat though.

  • Sorry I think its irresponsible to to cross in those conditions & yes Ive done it, I did it for 9 years & have fished for another 9 yrs since then in the Southern Ocean, Falklands, South Africa, Indian and Atlantic Oceans so feel i can comment. What do they teach you about bar crossings when you do your ticket? "If in doubt stay out". And anyway if you're in that much of a hurry to get the fish off just take it up to westport where the bar is good in a souwest. Madness!

  • I remember that day! barry was at the helm and two crew sharky and another pretty wicked shit they were so lucky, at one point they were standing on the roof! they make them tough here in Greymouth westcoast nz

  • great shot, but these boats are servely underpowered, to save fuel/costs, crews are expendible, that could have easily ended badly.

  • just like a surfboard, lucky they got balls of steel!

  • @slooob23 some people gotta do this shit for a living mate, it's not for fun!!

  • @caretakerwilly

Yeah I know dude, I have removed my comments. I was pissed off about a guy I used to know who used to put his crew at risk doing He-man crap, nothing to do with this boat though.

  • @slooob23 sweet as bro, no worries

  • It's like trying to navigate in a huge washer machine. Nice work

  • i will be posting more soon
