  • My childhood in a nutshell, only kid on the block witha Turbo Graphics 16. And this game.

Everyone else had the shitty EU SNES version.

  • Part of the melody of this song is actually the refrain from a much earlier Castlevania track from Haunted Castle: Clock Tower's Beat. Pretty neat how Castlevania music always pays homage to its roots (you'll know it when you hear it).

  • wow que muscica

  • Is there a version of this with higher sound quality? If you listen closely to 0:07-0:21 and then compare that sound clip with sound recorded directly from the PSP version of ROB (the 2D sprite version), you can easily hear some missing channels of sound in this YouTube version. Can someone link me to a version with higher quality? Thanks in advance.

  • @forgottenimports I'm sorry, i tried listening tons of times to it, but i don't see which missing channels

  • @forgottenimports I just tried it out with my console, maybe your right about a difference on the PSP version, but not on the original

  • @reflexassassin If you listen to those segments that I metioned very closely, you will notice a subtle drum beat in the backround that is missing from this YouTube video. I can understand not finding it, as it takes a trained ear to hear it. Lastly, the PSP version is a direct port of the original, so they should sound the same. Try listening to your console version with headphones, you should hear a difference then.

  • @forgottenimports actually they added an extra bass to the PSP version on all the songs, yes it is a direct port, but some of the music seems improved somehow...

this sounds exactly the same from the original PC-Engine version

  • @roman6a My appologies. I did not know this when I typed that comment.

  • @forgottenimports nah, don't worry, i was just giving current information on the already existing thread

  • @roman6a im prettty sure Jonnathan, Alucard, and Soma would disagree

  • Richter is flipping off the two people that disliked this video.

  • @Ebb1993isgreat You stole my idea DAMN YOU!

  • your words are as empty as your soul

  • I WANT TO TRY THIS GAME!!!!!!!!!

  • @homerosz97 you should get the psp game dracula chronicles x its a remake plus you can unlock the original turbografx 16 symphony of the night and a new mini game

  • Dracula and Shaft disliked this

  • Whose idea was it to marry kickass video game music with softcore porn music?! It is AWESOME!

  • no look up bad dudes stage 2 music the beginning directly rips it off

  • bad dudes rip off!!!!

  • @turtleinthedark What? I don't think castlevania ripped of anything.

  • If there was a Castlevania anime, this should be the intro.

  • @1990nintendo Not wanting to get involved in the mud-slinging, but XBox 360 are much better than the Wii. Nintendo's problem is that they market the majority of their products to people who aren't traditional gamers. If they went back to the Castlevania, Megaman, Zelda and Metroid (et al) days and focus on games for gamers then I would prefer the Wii over 360.

  • Just got this on Wii's Virtual Console...ITS AMAZING!

  • T3h finger = Dracua Bitchslap = OVAH 90000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 damage

  • this song is such a rip off of bad dudes

  • SUCH SICK FCKING MUSIC KONAMI make Super Castlevania 2 for 3ds or wii or vc or wii 2

  • @1990nintendo get an Xbox. nintendo always has the worst games (at least at this generation lol)

  • @roman6a wow do you even know anything about nintendo roman6a? Nintendo wii has outsold 360 and ps3 BECAUSE OF THE GAMES LOL xbox has the worse fcking games thats why they bought out rare for 300 million+ and they also bought GTA do some fcking research before you talk shit, all that 360 has is hardware and thats because microsoft has made millions before xbox even came out

  • This song was also used in Castlevania 64 on the title screen. I think I like that version better because it was played with a violin and sounded more Castlevania-like. This version is awesome too but sounds more like it should be on a Mega Man game.

  • this one is the best version of bloodlines

  • When you kidnap a belmnondt's babe you better sure as hell be prepared for the ass-kicking you brought upon yourself

  • Actually, Simon uses his sword in haunted castle, if you count that game.

  • Had just heard SNES version before. This is great too.

  • Everyone is wrong. Richter Belmont is the male version of Chun-Li

  • anyone notice richter kind of looks like ryu?

  • @slaymaster999 hyabusa or street fighter?

  • @Marioiswicked well if it was ryu hyabusa i would said that lmao but yea street fighter hes got the headband the hair, similar outfits, except ricthers is blue

  • @Marioiswicked Both.... Ryu from Street Fighter Alpha and Ryu Hayabusa from the NES Ninja Gaiden

  • Best Castlevania game ever, and music.

  • @BIGBOSS1983100

Maybe one of the best, but not the best.

  • @BIGBOSS1983100 Based on the ones I've played at this point (including Dawn of Sorrow), I couldn't agree more.

  • @BIGBOSS1983100 IKR man! i think so too!

  • @BIGBOSS1983100 Actually Super Castlevania IV was it had a second play through after you beat the first part of the game it only got harder :D

  • They're not swords, they're throwing blades used as a sub weapon.

  • @abdfgor maybe you should reply insted of commenting

  • This game had and still has some of the best music in any video game. I bought this game just because of it's music. Divine Bloodlines, Vampire Killer, Bloody Tears, Beggining, it's all in this game, and it's all really good. It's only missing Wicked Child, or at least I can't find a Rondo of Blood version.

  • those are daggers....

and yes they do use them >_>

    FOR THROWING!

  • I think that Dracula and Death are the only ones who disliked this video.

  • rondo of blood is the ultimate 2d stage by stage castlevania, all of them are great. but rondo of blood is amazing in all aspects, cas 3 is amazing as wel but they just didnt have the technology to make it as beautiful as rondo is

i love the begining with death and then u get to the town with backgrounds of cas 2 n the fire in the background, its just so epic

i love 4 but it just has its own tone n lane

  • rickters like time to open a can of whoop ass

  • Legendary, Bloodlines and SCIV are the top two.......then Symphony and so on.

  • HYDRO STORM!

  • This is one of my favourite castlevanias ever. The only better game i know on the saga is the third of Famicom (along with player selection, great music, and lots of levels and difficulty)

  • I wish they would make a castlevania like this again.

The golden age of gaming i call it, was the Castlevania Era.

And then, Symphony of the night came along(don't misread my text, i played that game for years) and changed the platform forever.

There needs to be another game like this, but not like the SNES version. We need, a REAL castlevania

Different selectable characters(yes i know the third one has this), awesome music, and the BELMONTS, not Alucard or Eric Lacarde. THE BELMONTS KICK ASS!!!

  • looks like richters tellin dracula to bring it

  • when I need an energy boost on the treadmill... bloodlines

  • I know this is old, but oh heck......1 guy is Dracula..

  • @blackwallstreet1313

    the other is shaft

  • Richter is giving the finger to Dracula.

  • Comment removed

  • man richter is so epic that i bet the guys who made the statue of liberty got it from this pose

  • @joeymoncivais If only...

  • @joeymoncivais It would have been even better if the statue of liberty WAS Richter lol

  • @joeymoncivais Lol, richter blesses everyone by uh.... hand-gesturin them

  • Has anyone ever noticed that Simon, Trevor, and Richter all have swords that they never use?

  • @SuperAero96 maybe its a ridiculously large throwing knife

  • @SuperAero96 That kinda bugged me too. However, I think that Richter uses his knife/sword in his blade-dash move (the up, quarter-circle-forward + attack move) in Symphony of the Night.

  • @SuperAero96

Its for "DISPLAY USE ONLY" lol!!!

  • @SuperAero96 I always thought they were the knives they throw, but then again, when you have a magical whip that can destroy immortals (vampires, namely), would YOU use a sword?

  • @SuperAero96 if you're talking about that DAGGER on his belt its clearly a DAGGER

  • @AntichristDemoncore looks like shortsword to me

  • @Runazarag look at it lol its the length from the start of his wrist to his elbow thats too small to be a short sword. Which would be like around his fingertips to his elbow in length.

  • @AntichristDemoncore :D still looks like shotsword to me ...

  • @SuperAero96 I can offer 2 explanations, they either throw it or use it as a backup weapon.

  • @SuperAero96 maybe those are the throwing knifes

  • @SuperAero96 maybe if they'd make a movie about Castlevania they would use it together with the whip , and make some cool looking combos.

  • @SuperAero96 Doesn't Richter use the sword during his dash attack? Why else would it deal slash damage?

  • @SuperAero96 its actually the knife powerup that they trow!

  • @SuperAero96

    Thats a dagger!

  • @SuperAero96

In Symphony of the Night, Richter seems to use his sword for his Blade Dash skill.

In Haunted Castle, Simon does use his sword.

As for Trevor, not so much.

  • @SuperAero96 It's a subweapon knife.

  • @SuperAero96 its the throwing knife weapon they never use it because it is useless

  • @SuperAero96 thats cuz swords are to easy to use. they love to be badass and use a whip. i would to. also, another explenation could be that the "sword" is actually the dagger

  • @SuperAero96 You have a point there. Looks more like a dagger, but at least the guy in Castlevania 64 uses it.

  • @SuperAero96 Aren't those the daggers they like to throw around?

  • @username991100 No,the daggers are much smaller.

  • @SuperAero96 Swords were used as a last ditch effort for the most part, and in many cases they were purely ornamental. Spears, axes, large swords and clubs are much more effective in actual combat.

  • @SuperAero96 exactly....

    director:YO use your sword

richter:im too badass for that screw you!

  • @SuperAero96 Daggers. That's a bit short to be a sword, unless it's the Kokiri Sword.

  • @NickandSasuke Oh... my... GOD! RICHTER KILLED LINK!? D:

  • @whatewer23

Ganon: Die Fairy! You don't belong in this world!

Link: It was not by my hand that I am once again given the triforce. I was brought here by the -gods- to stop you from making people pay tribute!

Ganon: Tribute!? You slice monster's faces, and then eat their hearts!

Link: Perhaps the same could be said of all video game heroes?

  • @NickandSasuke Oh god, this is the first top comment I've seen that is a reply AND so awesome one doesn't need to scroll down to find the joke.

  • @NotepadScribbles Why thank you, kind sir. I have a commenting problem, but occasionally, I say something funny.

  • @SuperAero96 Probably an emergency weapon for if they get their shit slapped and lose the whip.

  • @SuperAero96 Propably either letter openers, butter knifes or bread knifes.

  • @SuperAero96 They realized that, that's why in CV 64 Reinhardt can use a sword as a close attack. But since some people hated on cv 64, they didn't include it again. Asses. I enjoyed CV 64 =(

  • @SuperAero96 im pretty sure thats a dagger subweapon.

  • @supersmashbro596 Just what I was about to say...

  • @supersmashbro596 Naw man, it's a shortsword! He never carries a subweapon with him! If he did, why aren't the Throwing Axe and Holy Water on his belt?

  • @SuperAero96 vampire killer is more powerfull and swords can't kill the undead.

  • @SuperAero96 thats a dagger ... and yes its richter sub weapon .......

  • Konami is the sexiest game company ever

  • @mruppel2 Indeed but when it comes to them releasing add-on content, they fail. =/

  • I like the SNES theme for this track better.

  • Is there a song in this that sounds kind of like the menu song for SoTN? Its like a church choir song.. not the SoTN version but another one that I thik was in this game? Anyone know?

  • God daaaaaaaamn, this song is too good.

  • one of dracula's minions disliked this video because they he knows that richter is coming to beat some vampire and demon ass

  • This is one of the few videos on YT where all the comments are awesome and not hateful. +1 Gamers

  • Middle finger summons HYDRO STORM!!!!

  • @LUMPYSKULL lol it does look like he is giving the middle finger.

  • l always recognise Divine Bloodlines as Richter Belmont's Theme in the game.

  • I hope they put this song into harmony of despair

  • awesome song

  • The album says that this track is named Descendants of Heaven and Earth not bloodlines

  • Sorry but this is not Bloodlines, this is Divine Bloodlines.

  • I have this game on the Wii. It came out a couple of weeks ago!

  • This is my favorite castlevania game

  • by classicvania standards this game is rather easy and Dracula was a breeze (yes even as Richter lol) but theres no denying its awesomeness

  • @TrevorCBelmont

really? the only other one I have is Castlevania 4 and I thought Rondo of Blood was much harder.

  • @TrevorCBelmont Dracula was pretty difficult in this game, with Richter anyhow. It's a real chore to avoid those fireballs. Now in Super Castlevania 4 Dracula was a real push over.

  • @vio2112

I guess im just good lol dont mean to brag but eh. I just backflip his fireballs im not saying I can do a no damage run or anything I mess up in the silliest of ways lol.

  • damm i was allway,s happy with the snes tune i tout this, untill i hear this version it blows it away.

  • Look! Richter is flipping off dracula! lol

  • i thought Bloodlines was the final stage?

  • It's the name of the song :)

  • oh i see. thanks

  • @runesaq And it was the name of the Genesis game, right?

  • @runesaq Yeah, that's kinda true, although in the original Rondo, it actually said "Rondo of Blood" as the name of the final stage, not "Bloodlines" like in the later versions + SOTN.

The name of this song is Bloodlines, though.

  • This ain't the SNES version. The SNES used 16-bit synth. The game wasn't originally for Super Nintendo. It's originally for the PC engine (Or Tubro Grafx-16 as it's also called). That one did have cd quality sound as you can hear in this video. When they ported it to Super Nintendo they changed the music to 16-bit. This video is NOT the SNES version, again.

  • @Smarty4789 Ah... Dracula X... best soundtrack on the Super Nintendo!

    Period!

  • @Smarty4789

*sigh* Ever occured to you that the digital sound on a CD is stored in 16 Bit? So, coming from your flawed argumentation, the SNES sound is as much "16 Bit" as the CD version.

Yes, I know what you mean. I am pointing out it is futile to generalize everything into "Bit" classifications. The result of marketing people fucking with little kids minds.

  • @porcorosso81 True, but it's compressed less. That's the difference.

  • this track needs more duration no?

And yes, this game is awesome xD!!

  • wow just played rondo for the first time and Dracula x is a piece of crap compared to rondo of blood. Rondo's controls are 100 x better then Dracula X. I don't feel like i'm going to die when i jump across to a ledge :-D

  • I agree that Rondo of Blood has far better gameplay than Dracula X. However, Rondo is inferior in two departments: Sound, and those annoying anime cutscenes. It really breaks the immersion of a great 'masculine' game when there are cut scenes with 12 year old anime girls, one of which is a vampire hunter in a mini skirt.

I mean, seriously, what is it with the Japanese and warrior school-girls in mini-skirts?

  • I will agree most Japaneses people are perverts :-D I like the cut scenes more story around it. And you also had another character to play.

  • Japan has the mind that, if there's going to be a girl that kicks ass, she has to look cute in pink and possibly a skirt. America has the mind that, if there's going to be a girl that kicks ass, she has to look hot in black and possibly wear spandex.

Also how can you say that sound is better on Dracula X? Dracula X uses SNES midi sound, this uses high-quality CD synth.

  • rondo inferior in sound? GET THE FUCK OUTTA HERE , compare the track odus in rondo to snes's version

no hate towards dracula x its a great game

  • @ChaosRender Did you know that Dracula X has the original Rondo of Blood on it. I agree. The original has 10x better physics.

  • Yes, I beat him...

  • Really guys? It's youtube, stop bickering. Anywho if that statement is true, there will be many an EARgasm for the whole country. : )

  • EARgasm.

  • This is an orgasm for the eardrums xD

  • Look at the eye of dracula, oh shit he didn't like that finger form Richter. ahahaha

  • This music is just pure epicness! I could dance to this all day.

  • Why in the world does Konami not have this game for the Wii virtual console yet? It came out in Japan in spring of 2008. I shouldn't have to buy a PSP to play this game.

  • Legend has it, Konami submitted it to Nintendo for approval for the US Virtual Console, and it was rejected.

  • Why would they reject this when they allow incompetent developers like Data Design Interactive to produce truckloads of crapware for their system?

  • Nintendo no longer cares for a core gaming audience, but rather, a broader, casual audience. Casuals don't know about Chi no Rondo - Or Castlevania for that matter. So "if it wasn't here to begin with, keep it there" seems to be Nintendo's motto.

  • you're a fucking moron.

  • it has nothing to do with nintendo, but has everythng to do with you being a fucking retard

way to block me from posting on your profile though, mr amateur manga artist

    HAHAHAH

  • way to keep posting racial slurs on my profile though, as if a black person would have a name with nignog in it

    holy shit you're beyond retarded

  • Comment removed

  • @silentzorah

Well today the game was rated in australia for Virtual Console.

That means after all there will be an western release.

  • lets keep it real. castlevania 4 and sotn are better. but this is still very good.

  • This is my assigned theme for the Dracula battle in DXC ^_^

  • @AceTheSlayer75 How do you assign a song to Dracula? It won't let me select the stage 8 marker or Vs. Dracula, what did you do?

  • I dunno...I think you have to defeat Dracula first...it let me before.

  • my favourite stage themes are Dracula´s Castle from Symphony of the Night,Pitch Black Intrusion from Dawn of Sorrow and this theme

  • love this

  • This game has incredible soundtrack.

  • Richter: FUCK the evil sky and you dracula!

  • ROFL!!!

  • Such an epic music!

  • F*CK!!!

    THIS IS SOO HOT !!!!!!!!!

  • Konami and Capcom games were just JUGGERNAUTS back then within terms of video game music, they're still one step ahead of the others all around as companies/corporations.

  • @gillianseed "were"? they still are!

  • @KDavisJr86 I dunno, Kojima has become a self-absorbed asshole who's full of his own shit, and Capcom has driven away not only the creators of Street Fighter & Biohazard, but now Mega Man as well! Sadly, each company is dwelling on the past, with nothing to show for the future.

  • @gillianseed what do u think of Sunsoft?? They did Blaster Master and Batman and the music in that was astounding. Just wanted your thoughts. But Yes agree that Konami and Capcom were the very best in the music department!!!

  • @gillianseed

I am still to find a soundtrack better than Mega Man's or CastleVania's.
