As i remember the command % was mainly influenced by nuclear exchanges which you did not really control. In level 1 there were none so your command % was high, on level 2 there was usually one exchange so % was lower and level 3 usually ended with a nuclear holocaust so your % was 0 anyway :-)
You're right! Tried it out and it works. It seems you have to hold some kind of balance in the air otherwise the AI will nuke you on level 3. Usually i recalled all planes from interdiction and counter air and put all of them to air superiority. Maybe they felt it as unfair :-) This time there were no nuke exchanges at all. I've won with 90% command with NATO. Did not lose a single unit, killed about 5 Pact untis, won the air war, evaded the nukes. How could i score higher then this?
Hey, man, I am assuming you are running on a emulator, if so, what key set do you use? I love this game, but I get bogged down by the fact I can't move my troops up, but I can move them left, right, up, and down. I have to go 2+4 to go down, 2+6 to go right, and 2+8 to go left, so I am assuming it is bound to my 2 key, thank you.
OMg This brings back memories...I remember buying this and wanting to get to the all out nuclear war part of the game..From memory you had to call a number e.g 01xxxxxxx to get the "code" to launch the nukes..how cool was that...
The guy is doing totally wrong, get rid off the small armies, so your big ones get stronger. You never manage to crush the swiss, cos so many yellows already got lost.
When this came out on the C64 you had to ring a phone number to get the code ("midnight sun"). From what I recall it gave you the code then played "Give Peace A Chance" at you over the phone. Which, even at the tender age of 12 I thought was a bit rich coming from the people who had charged me quite a lot of pocket money for their wargame!
One of my absolute favourite games when i was a kid:) a couple of years ago i played it on an emulator and i still remembered the password for nukes, midnight sun:)
@maxdooom i bought it original, but never gived me the damnit psw for nukes........ can you please tell me ? Maybe after 20years i'll be able to fully play it. Thanks :)
Very nice game. Still today does not exist something like that at my opinion.
@LightsEShadows ok maybe i found it on video. Midnight sun !!!!! Oh yeah thats obvious ! Damnit !! Yeah I'll try to nuke Moscow after 20 years of waiting. Bye eh eh :)
@1976redstorm I dont know if i can nuke Paris :) even if in endwar i was very tempted to do it... Both sides are funny, but NATO is always the best :-)
Is there a remake on the net?

Nope . The video recorded is level 3. Nuclear strikes were caused by high values in air superiority and others parameters of the panel AIR PHASE
