    Cheers.

    Alan.

  • Are you covering all the strings with your index finger on the first fret when you're playing F11? :)

  • Yes I am, If you have trouble holding down all the strings you can try this:

You can play the strings like an open chord rather than a barre chord by placing your index finger on the B string 1st fret, your middle finger on the high E string 1st fret, your ring finger on the G string 2nd fret and fold the end of your thumb over the bass E string. Its a natural chord change from the Am as your index finger does not move off the B string (just back slightly) during the change.

  • Amazing!! :D you have a good voice as well ^-^ Thank you yeah.

  • Index finger on B string, 1st fret

Bird finger on E string, 1st fret

Ring finger on G string, 2nd fret

    Pick pattern: 5 4 3 1 2 3

Does that sound OK to y'all?

(It also makes for easy transitions, IMO.)

    Repost:

Or maybe better yet, how 'bout the index finger on B and E strings, first fret and bone finger on the G string, 2nd fret?

  • Awesome!!!!! thank you very much!

  • Hi, i've loved this tutorial. Could you make another one teaching how to play Changes, from Black Sabbath?

    tks, lindomar from Brazil

  • Hey great video, im haviing some trouble with the F11 chord any tips to help me out?

  • @Chawags95

I'll give it a go; What trouble are you having with it?

  • @guitartutorman Im guessing its do to finger strength but im having trouble holding down the B and E strings on the first fret

  • @Chawags95

This may help, it depends how flexible your thumb is, but you can play the strings like an open chord rather than a barre chord by placing your index finger on the B string 1st fret, your middle finger on the high E string 1st fret, your ring finger on the G string 2nd fret and fold the end of your thumb over the bass E string. Its a natural chord change from the Am as your index finger does not move off the B string (just back slightly) during the change.

    Cheers.

    Alan.

  • @guitartutorman That works much better for me thanks again!!!!

  • @Chawags95

    No worries.

    Merry Christmas.

    Alan.

  • @vampire1316

    Thank you.

    I'm glad it helped.

    Merry Christmas.

    Alan.

  • Very useful. Very professional.

They way you show the chords and the strings being played with the additional views makes the whole difference.

That's what distinguishes you from the rest.

  • @xicalhada

    Thank you.

    Alan.

  • it's verry too speed in the second part, impossible to learn for the beigners f**k =(

  • Thank you this guitar lesson but what software do you use?

  • @mattfun100

    Hi there!

    Thank you for your comment.

I create all the graphics in Adobe Photoshop then add them frame by frame over the video of me singing etc. using Adobe Premiere Elements. Its very time consuming but the most accurate method I could come up with.

    Cheers.

    Alan.

Best of luck with your playing, I am so glad my videos have helped.

    Cheers.

    Alan.

  • Why do I do this to myself again and again. I tell myself I will practice.

    So I...:

    1. ... turn on Youtube.

    2. ... practice on one video.

    3. ... click on another.

    4. ... feel the agony of incompetence.

    5. ... lay guitar down.

    6. ... find myself in the weird part of Youtube, at the end of the day.

Other than that. I like your interpretation of this song and the tutorial as well. I guess I need to start out a little bit easier :)

  • the best guitar tutorial ever :) keep going !

  • This is the BEST kind of online lesson I've ever seen. Very clear animations, and no useless, self-centred talk. It would be perfect if you could write the chords you use (also in the video description or where you want), so that we can practise without having to play and pause the video to remember the chords.
